We’re saddened to share that Pixar animator, Ralph Eggleston, has passed away at the age of 56.
Ralph Eggleston was behind many popular Pixar works and took on many roles.
According to NBC News, Ralph Eggleston passed away following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. His writing and directing of For the Birds won him an Academy Award in the animated short film category. Here’s Pixar’s tribute to Ralph Eggleston:

His credits also include serving as an Art Director on Toy Story, and working as an artist on Monsters, Inc., Wall-E, Cars, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Inside Out, and Soul (his final work). Before his time with Pixar, he also worked on films like Lion King, Pocahontas, and Aladdin.
He will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
