We’re not going to sugarcoat it: Disney World can be EXPENSIVE!
There’s so much to think about when it comes to budgeting from your hotel room, food, tickets, and even how you’re going to get there — and that’s before you start taking into consideration miscellaneous things like merchandise and souvenirs. We’ve already rounded up some of the cheapest days you can visit Disney World in 2023, and now we’re back to providing a comprehensive list of the most expensive days. Let’s take a look!
Before we get into the specific dates, we want to take a moment to explain how we arrived at these prices. We’re looking exclusively at single-day, 1-park per day (non-park hopper) tickets. That means that a ticket at these prices will get you into one park per day for only one day. If you purchase a multi-day, the price per day decreases. And, of course, if you opt for something like a Park Hopper, your ticket price will increase.
Keep in mind that in December of 2022, ticket price INCREASES and CHANGES went into effect. 1-day, 1-park tickets are now park-specific (meaning the prices vary depending on what park you want to visit on that date). In addition, Park Hoppers got a price change and now that cost varies by date.
All of the prices below are based on the STARTING prices for tickets displayed in the updated park ticket calendar. Note that the calendar now only shows a starting price (i.e. $134+). Once you select a particular date, you’ll then be able to see what a ticket for each park is priced at on that date. So while a ticket for, say, Animal Kingdom might be $134 on a particular date (which is what Disney might show as the starting price), a ticket for the other parks may be much more expensive. Keep that in mind!
Let’s get into the month-by-month breakdown!
January
January is typically viewed as a less busy time for Disney World. The holiday season has died down, kids are back in school, and the parks are a little emptier.
However, it’s important to remember that the beginning of the month is still winter break for lots of people, and the first day of the month is a holiday, too! That’s why January 1st, New Year’s Day, is one of the most expensive days to head to Disney World in January, with tickets starting at $159. Tickets on January 2nd also start at $159.
Here’s a look at the park-by-park ticket price breakdown for January 1st.
Note how tickets start at $159 but some parks are much more expensive. Magic Kingdom, for example, is priced at $184 per ticket.

February
February is also considered to be a slower month in Disney World, but that doesn’t mean some dates aren’t expensive.
February 20th and 25th are the most expensive dates — with both having tickets starting at $159.
But exact pricing for the parks depends on which of these dates you go on. For example, Magic Kingdom is priced at $179 and Hollywood Studios is priced at $174 on February 20th…
…but those prices shift to $174 (Magic Kingdom) and $169 (Hollywood Studios) on the 25th.
February 20th is President’s Day, so that explains the high pricing. February 25th falls during the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, which can be another busy period.
These will be the HARDEST dining reservations to get in 2023!
March
In March, prices are high thanks to the start of spring break in many parts of the country.
The highest starting ticket price in March is $154 on March 17th, 18th, 19th, and 28th. Remember that the prices for each of the parks will differ depending on what date you go. So while all of these dates “start” at $154, the price for a ticket to Magic Kingdom, for example, may vary between them.
Prices do see a slight dip in the final few days of March.

April
April sees the same phenomenon as March: spring break is still going strong and the parks are crowded, meaning that ticket prices are still high.
The most expensive starting ticket price in April is the same as March: $154 per day.
You’ll find this price on April 1st, 8th, 9th, and 22nd.

May
Things slow down a little bit in May as there’s a period of time between the end of spring break and the start of summer crowds. Ticket prices are still relatively high during this time, though.
The most expensive days to visit Disney World in May are May 27th, 28th, and 29th, when the starting price is $154.
Be aware that EPCOT ticket prices fluctuate during that time — going from $164 on the 27th and 28th to $159 on the 29th.

June
By June, the summer crowds have typically started to arrive (if they haven’t already taken over), and the temperature is very hot, but on average, it’s not a very expensive month to visit the parks.
The most expensive days to visit Disney World in June (based on the starting price shown in the calendar) are June 1st and 2nd, and June 30th. On those dates, ticket prices start at $149.
Prices are lower than that for the rest of the month.

July’s most expensive date is a little obvious: it’s around the 4th of July! July 3rd and 4th see the highest starting prices for the month at $154.
Magic Kingdom is most expensive on July 4th, at $179 for the day. (It’s $169 on July 3rd).

September
Much like the end of August has some of the cheapest Disney World tickets for the whole year, so do many dates in September.
Tickets do increase in price on the weekends, however. The most expensive day to visit is September 30th, when the starting price of tickets is $149.
But you’ll need to go to Animal Kingdom that day to get that price. Magic Kingdom is priced at $169 on that day.

November
With the start of November comes the start of the holiday season in Disney World. Tickets are more expensive as demand increases for the parks’ holiday festivities and offerings.
The most expensive days to visit Disney World in November are, no surprise here, over the week of Thanksgiving. Kids are out of school, and a lot of families choose to spend Thanksgiving in the parks. From November 19th-26th, tickets start at $159 each.
But again, prices can be more expensive for each individual park. On Thanksgiving Day, for example, prices are:
- Magic Kingdom: $184
- EPCOT: $169
- Hollywood Studios: $179
- Animal Kingdom: $159

December
Finally, we come to December. December is one of the busiest times of year for Disney World, and, as such, sees the highest average ticket prices.
The most expensive day to visit Disney World at the end of the year is, again, not a surprise, the period of time right before Christmas until New Year’s Eve. From December 22nd-31st, tickets start at $159 per day.
On Christmas Day 2023, Magic Kingdom is priced at $189 (while Animal Kingdom is $159, Hollywood Studios is $179, and EPCOT is $179). Prices look similar on New Year’s Eve 2023.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with February’s expensive time, but that weekend is also the weekend of the Daytona 500. They may be trying to capitalize on people that want to do both when they are down there. Just an idea.

February is Presidents Day weekend right? 3 day weekend for most kids in school.

Another reason for the spike in Feb is Mardi Gras on the 21st. Most of southern Louisiana is shut down. So there is a huge migration to WDW for folks avoiding the celebrations. You’ll notice that about 85% of the cars in the park parking lots have Louisiana license plates that weekend.
