Hurricanes are known to impact Florida almost every year, and the season is not yet over.
In fact, we’ve seen several storms to watch lately, like Fiona and Gaston, and now, there’s a new tropical depression that could potentially be on its way to Florida. So, if you’re flying into Orlando soon, you need to be aware of some changes that have been made due to the weather.

Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and more local theme parks have announced multi-day closures ahead of Hurricane Ian as well.

Tropical Depression 9 is being watched now and will soon turn into a Tropical Storm. The path of the storm is not certain, but it could become a major hurricane threat for Florida. UPDATE: The storm has strengthened and is now category 4 Hurricane Ian.
In anticipation of this, Orlando International Airport tweeted out a message saying that pre-storm precautions and protective measures are being taken to coordinate airport activities. They said that the relocation dates for JetBlue & Caribbean Airlines to Terminal C will be rescheduled.

As of September 29th, the Orlando International Airport will remain closed due to flooding. You can see the latest statement below.
Terminal C is the brand new terminal that just opened up this week at the airport, and several airlines are planned to be flying out of the terminal moving forward.
If you’re flying into Orlando in the next few days, make sure you keep up with any info or announcements from your airline and the airport. We’ll be keeping an eye on the storm and let you know if any other major changes happen at Orlando International Airport.
The potential impact of the storm has caused Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency for all of Florida.
