At long last! Can you believe it’s been almost a year and I haven’t done a full blog post about Beaches and Cream? Well, rest assured I’ve been to my favorite soda shop a couple of times since the beginning of this food blog, so I’ve got plenty of photos for ya!
Atmosphere
Beaches and Cream is located right next to Stormalong Bay between the Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts. It’s styled as a mid-century shoreline soda shop, complete with a creamy, salt-water-taffy color scheme; beach balls adorning the booths; a counter lining two walls; a big ol’ jukebox; and white wrought iron tables.
Mirrors reflect from one side of the dining room making the place look a bit bigger, but it’s tiny in there! There are three booths (get there early to grab one!) and a handful of tables, plus counter seating. Beaches and Cream doesn’t take advanced dining reservations, so at any given time you’re likely to see a large group of folks with pagers waiting outside or in the video arcade next door.
Don’t want to wait? No problem. Beaches and Cream also has a take-out area to the right of the main entrance. Grab some quick eats and sit at one of the fun ice-cream-cone shaped tables outside while you watch fellow Disney World guests enjoy Stormalong Bay!
Eats
Now we get to my favorite part! Beaches and Cream is a soda shop, so the menu is pretty basic — burgers, fries, hot dogs, onion rings, etc. Here are a few of our favorite things to order:
The Mickey pasta chicken noodle soup is big, hearty, and delicious. Definitely worth a try, and a good choice if you’re feeling a little under the weather.
And if you’re not feeling all that under the weather, tuck into a big bowl of chili. This is my husband’s favorite.
It never hurts to order a few onion rings as a side — everyone at the table will help you eat them, I promise.
But save room for your dinner! Here are Beaches and Cream’s classic dishes, the cheeseburger and the hot dog.
But if you’re in the mood for something different, the french dip/cheesesteak is always a winner…
Finally, what you were waiting for…dessert! The list of desserts, including malteds, strawberry shortcake, milkshakes, and sundaes is long, my friends. LONG. Take your time and really consider your options. Here are a few of our recent choices. The first is a brownie sundae that I order with peanut butter, the second a butterscotch sundae, and the third is the Milky Way Sundae. I’m also including that shake photo from the other day…yum!
Those sundaes aren’t even close to the limit, though. The infamous Kitchen Sink resides here at Beaches and Cream: 8 scoops of ice cream — including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, and mint chocolate chip; Angel Food Cake, Bundt Cake, Brownies, Oreos, Milky Way Candy bar pieces; Peanut Butter, Hot Fudge, Strawberry, Butterscotch, and Caramel sauces; Bananas, Cherries, and Sprinkles; and a whole can of whipped cream. When you order it, they turn on the emergency lights and make a huge announcement to the room 🙂 Never stops being fun.
Now, if you’ve not seen anything you like here, I’ve got some menu photos for you as well. Just click on them to see a larger size.
And here’s the to-go menu. Again, click for a larger version.
Other Fun Information
Another thing that we love — and that my mother, who came of age in the 50’s, never stops talking about — is that you can order flavored Cokes. By that I mean soft drinks with flavors added right there at the counter. Cherry, chocolate, vanilla…all of your old favorites. And, if you ask very nicely, they might give you some maraschino cherries in your cherry Coke… Just sayin’.
Finally, remember that as a Beach and Yacht Clubs guest, you can refill your refillable mug for no charge at Beaches and Cream. (I know…you didn’t think it could get any better, right?)
When Are You Going?
Are you headed to Beaches and Cream soon? Remember to arrive early to get a great seat without waiting. Other good times to go are mid-afternoon, and during Illuminations. (Note: don’t try to hit this great spot after Illuminations — it’s packed!)

That cheesesteak may just be enough to sway me away from the burger finally! This may require repeat visits just to be sure though…

I love this place, it’s a family favorite! The veggie burger is actually the best I’ve ever had. Now I want to try that chicken noodle soup and chili! And for ice creams, that Milky Way sundae is divine. Still haven’t been brave enough to get the Kitchen Sink, one day….
Mallory says
This is my favorite place!! My mom and I used to stop in before hitting the Beach Club pool… Ahhh love it!!!
AJ says
Maria — It IS delicious. But I agree that you must head over a few times to really know which is best 😉
Heather — I should have a Disney Food Blog meet-up sometime and get the kitchen sink!
Mallory — Isn’t it the best? It’s so convenient to Stormalong Bay and Epcot. When I stay at the Beach Club, I practically live at Beaches and Cream.
Sara says
Hi! Love your blog! Quick question – how far of a walk is it from Epcot to get to B&C? I have only been there once and we drove to the Beach Club. Thanks!
Gray says
This looks like a fun place! I especially like that it has counter seating for solos. I’ve got to ask though–HOW did that ice cream and whipped cream on top of the butterscotch sundae not topple over onto the table? LOL. It looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. Eat fast!
Shayne says
AJ!!!! I’m so excited you posted this today. We leave tonight for WDW, and we are staying at Beach Club for the very first time. Beaches and Cream has been on my “to do” list for a while now, and I’ve been looking forward to trying it on this trip.
Though the weather is not exactly ideal for eating ice cream, I’m certain I can take one for the team and suffer through it. 🙂

No Way Jose… My favorite sundae from B&C.
TraciLeigh says
Oh yum!
I am now starving after reading this post and looking @ all the pictures. I’d like a french dip with a cherry coke (love flavored Cokes!) and then I’m thinking about that brownie sundae with peanut butter! There goes my diet! 🙂
AJ says
Hi Sara — The walk from Epcot to B&C is about 5-10 minutes from the International Gateway, depending on how fast you walk. Thanks for reading!
Gray — I know! It even held while I positioned it to take the photo!
Shayne — YAY! Have a wonderful time at the Beach Club; I love that place! Don’t forget to check out the Hurricane Hanna’s post and the Cape May Cafe post! 🙂 Safe travels.
tfc3rid — That’s my favorite, too! I can’t ever decide between the No Way Jose and the brownie sundae, though, which is why I ask them to add peanut butter sauce to the brownie sundae — I get everything I want all in one.
TraciLeigh — That is my exact order when I’m there! Usually either a hot dog or the beef sub, cherry coke, and that brownie sundae. I’m a creature of habit.
Lea says
Going to get my kitchen sink sundae next month! YUM!

A comment for those walking from the International Gateway of EPCOT to B&C. Veer left and go UNDER the bridge that leads to the Boardwalk. There’s NO HILL and it’s SHADY. Of course, if you are worried about the calories in the ice cream at B&C, you can stay to the right!
Lori says
When we were at WDW in August (of 2009) we tried to eat here. The wait was an hour or more so, needless to say…we didn’t stay. Maybe next time we’ll time it right and be able to have the veggie burger there.
AJ says
FJFuchs — Good tip! I never knew whether that went all the way to the other side or not!
Lori — Yep, the wait can be atrocious. You really have to time it right with this place!
Amanda Tinney says
Oh PLEASE have a Kitchen Sink Meet-Up next time you’re here!!!! Please , please, please. I didn’t get a chance to meet you on your honeymoon and I would love to!
We have tried to tackle the Kitchen Sink twice and have not has success.
Here’s a pic of my DD and her Kitchen Sink http://www.disneyeveryday.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Kitchen-Sink-5.jpg
AJ says
It would be fun, eh Amanda? I’ve never even ordered one!!

Hi
I’m trying to find photos on the web to give my kids an idea of what it would be like to visit DisneyWorld. One thing we were looking for was the candy palace, or images of sweet indulgences. This blog entry is great! Thanks for getting these details on here so nicely photographed.
AJ says
My pleasure, Rachel! Word is we’ll be doing a series of posts on candy stores soon!
fjfuchs says
What you forgot to mention on the flavored Cokes is that if you’re worried about the calories in the chocolate syrup, they will put your flavoring in DIET Coke. Does that defeat the purpose?
AJ says
fjfuchs — Very true! And most likely DOES defeat the purpose, but, hey, you’re in Disney World!
Kathryn says
We’ve had ice cream here before, which is fabulous, but this past weekend while staying at the Yacht Club and hanging by the pool, we decided that this would be a convenient place to try for lunch. It was great to just throw a bathing suit cover up on and wander in straight from the pool. We both ordered cheeseburgers and fries and I’m sad to report that it was awful! They must use grade D beef or something because it was just nasty. I was getting mouthfuls of hard pieces of grizzle. Yuck! Thankfully, we also ordered a mint chocolate chip milkshake, which was delicious and filled me up! I think we’ll stick to ice cream here going forward…
KW says
Can you (any of you) direct me to where I can find the times of operation of Beaches & Cream? I want to try to work it into our next trip to WDW in a few weeks.
Thanks!
AJ says
KW — Beaches and Cream is open from 11am to 11pm.
Chris UK says
I have GOT to try this place!
Rski says
This place is an excellent stop for an ice cream soda or a quick meal. The food is good and the service is excellent. My family and I have been fortunate to visit this place every time we have visited for the past seven years. It has been our first stop every time. I also love the 50’s style and theme. We cant wait for our trip on 10/4/12.
Kevin says
I was just there this week and I’m VERY dissapointed. Not only is the chicken noodle soup gone, they now charge $9 for a grilled cheese. It’s the most overpriced comfort food ever.
The price of the kitchen sink is now an unfathomable $28.

My wife and I ate here on April 29 and overall we thought it was a cute place but nothing special at all. The food was just decent (I got a burger and fries and she got a club sandwich) and the milkshake was pretty good (we split a cookies and cream milkshake) but this place is TINY and cramped. We have an infant and were seated just in front of the jukebox (that was fun since we picked all the songs to play) but we were right in the exit path for everyone in the place so we were constantly being bumped or having to move to make room for people to walk by.
I’d say this place is only worth going to if you want to get a coke float or maybe ice cream to go or if you sit at the counter. Overpriced for what you get, even for Disney. We won’t be going back.
Megan says
Are there no appetizers here? We are on the deluxe dining plan- appetizers are included in this- so it isn’t great if there are none at Beaches and Cream! Can we get a side instead?

We walked up for a table about 1:15 on a wed. We were told by the hostess they were completely booked. I said, “there’s no wait, your just completely booked?” She said, “YES (snappy) we are are completely booked. So 30 mins later(after we found some snacks to eat) i walk by to take my 5yr old to the bathroom (who is very well bahaved girl) and he same hostess is taking someones last name. I wait to hear say you can sit up at the counter if you want wait 5mins for us to clean it. The couple gladly agreed to wait. So i waited to ask if that couple had a reservation. She (rebeka) said “no”. I said, “we were just here, you told us you were “completely” booked. (How can ice cream be booked?). She says, ” well, our counter seating is always open or you can get take out ice-cream.”
WHAT! Why didnt she mention this before? I was pregnant and hungry and i had 1child who was hungry a well. Dont tell us your BOOKED when there are clearly more options. VERY disappointed in service at this place. Esp for family friendly DISNEY world!!!!

You DO need a reservation now for Beaches & Cream and it is nearly impossible to get! My favorite is a cheeseburger and onion rings and my husband and I share a banana split almost every time we go. We started going when it first opened. It has always been our favorite place to eat- but as I said nearly impossible to get in unless you want to sit at the counter
