We really get excited about Halloween in Disney World.
We’ve been celebrating since August, after all, when we first saw the decorations go up in Magic Kingdom. Plus, we got to go to the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Now, we’re getting to try out some brand NEW Halloween snacks, including a new one at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
Okay, so this is an interesting snack. It’s a Haunted Forest Apple Mousse, and it’s made with green cake with cookies n’ cream mousse, and not-so-poisoned sour apple mousse with dark chocolate tree branches. It’s also very photogenic!
But as we’ve learned in the past, looks can be deceiving (sort of like that poison apple), so does this treat taste as good as it looks? First thing is first, though. Here’s a warning — this thing is MESSY. The chocolate can get melty and the orange and red powder WILL stain your hands. But we have to say — this baby is DELICIOUS.
The cookies and cream mousse is rich, creamy, and SO smooth. The apple mousse on top tastes just like apple pie. Even the little green dripping on top has a nice sour candy flavor that pulls the whole snack together.
You’ll find the Haunted Forest Apple Mousse at Roaring Fork for $6.29 from now through October 31st — so be sure to head on over there to see it and try it for yourself.
We’re not done yet, though — we’re checking out all the new Halloween treats throughout Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews! For now, you can read every review of Disney World’s fall and Halloween snacks here.
