Halloween in Disney World means lots of tasty treats, big parties in Magic Kingdom, and spooky merchandise galore. If you recently purchased one of the new MagicBand+ bands that Disney released earlier this year, there’s another haunted activity you should try out in the parks!
MagicBand+ is the next generation of MagicBand. These bands do everything that the normal MagicBands do (work as park tickets, hotel room keys, a method of payment, etc.), and they also have some new features. One of those new features is that they interact with the 50th anniversary gold character statues around Disney World! Now, those interactions have taken a frightening turn.
While you’re wearing your MagicBand+, you can wave at the 50th Anniversary character statues and the characters will respond with a saying or song! We tested this out earlier, when MagicBand+ first debuted.
Now, however, some of the interactions have changed. They’ve taken on a spooky theme for the Halloween season! Thanks to DFB reader Sara (@rosieredsara83) for letting us know about this change. When we waved at Figment in EPCOT, some Addams family-esque music started to play.

Over in Magic Kingdom, the Fab 5 were also in the Halloween spirit. Daisy told us “Happy Halloween!” and Donald said, “Did somebody say treats? Oh boy, oh boy!”
Chip & Dale also wished us a Happy Halloween…
…and Mickey had a joke for us about a skeleton!

We were in Disney World late Jan thru Feb. 22, no magic band+, now it’s available, among the many things missed out AT DISNEY, this is just another. Should have been available for all guests the beginning of the 50th celebra
