Planning a trip to Disney World? We’d love to help you out!
There are a few things you should NOT forget to do before you leave. Make sure you’ve got all the Park Pass Reservations that you need, and take a look at our packing guide so that you don’t forget any essentials. And one more thing! Be sure to look at this list of everything that’ll be CLOSED at the parks and hotels for the coming week — you don’t want to be caught off guard by unexpected closures!
A quick note before we dive into the closures: Have you checked out our line of graphic tees? We’ve designed some for the whole family – from infants to adults. Click here to check them out!
Now that you’re ready with the perfect Disney shirts, check out our full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The years-long closure of the Walt Disney World Railroad is continuing in Magic Kingdom this week. Disney still hasn’t announced when it might reopen.
Although we’ve heard some train testing in the park, it’s possible that the railroad will remain closed until construction wraps up on the TRON: Lightcycle Run coaster over in Tomorrowland. This project (which has interrupted some parts of the railroad tracks) should be finished in the spring of 2023.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Another area that’s been impacted by the TRON construction is the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop. It looks like Disney is working on some refurbishments both inside and outside this shop.
Disney hasn’t announced yet when Light & Power will reopen. Guests exiting Space Mountain usually leave through this shop, but they’re being redirected to exit a different way.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Another spot that is still closed is Enchanted Tales with Belle. This character meet-and-greet attraction is where you could previously help Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Sometimes Belle is still here meeting guests, but the full attraction hasn’t returned yet, and Disney hasn’t said when it might be back.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy previously greeted guests while wearing their circus performer outfits at Pete’s Silly Sideshow.
This location is still closed now, but Disney has said that it will reopen sometime “in the coming months.”
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
And one more character meet-and-greet spot is still closed: Ariel’s Grotto. The Little Mermaid is unavailable for meet-and-greets for now, but you can still take a ride on Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid, which is located nearby.
Disney hasn’t said when Ariel will return to her grotto.
Check out some NEW drinks at Magic Kingdom here.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Another Little Mermaid attraction that’s currently closed is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show.
Disney hasn’t commented on this show’s closure at all, so we don’t know when or if it will reopen.
Fantasmic!
We’ve got better news for fans of Fantasmic! This show is going to reopen sometime this year, and Cast Member rehearsals have already begun.
Although we don’t have a specific reopening date for Fantasmic!, we know that it’ll have to be soon if Disney is going to meet its 2022 deadline.
There are NEW treats at Hollywood Studios — see them here.
EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
Canada Far & Wide is a film that’s shown in a huge 360-degree theater. But right now, that theater is being used by the Appleseed Orchard Food & Wine Festival booth. Instead of a movie, you’ll find all kinds of apple-flavored drinks at this spot.
We’re expecting Canada Far & Wide to return after the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival ends on November 19th.
American Adventure Pavilion
The American Adventure show in EPCOT’s World Showcase is still closed.
Disney hasn’t said when this show could reopen, but we heard from a Cast Member that the closure was just for some routine refurbishments on the animatronics, so hopefully it doesn’t stay closed for too long.
Check out the ultimate 1-day plan for EPCOT.
Disney World Hotels
Kona Café — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Kona Café is still temporarily closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, but it’ll reopen on November 1st, 2022 with an “enhanced table-service experience.” You can make reservations now if you want to visit once it reopens!
In the meantime, you can still grab food from Kona Café by using the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go. You’ll pick up your food right next to Kona Island.
Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, the seafood restaurant Narcoossee’s is also temporarily closed. This restaurant closed back in July of this year.
Narcoossee’s will reopen sometime in 2023 with an “enhanced table-service experience.”

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
One of Disney World’s water parks — Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park — is still closed right now. But don’t worry — you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon!
If you want to know more about what’s going on inside Blizzard Beach right now, check out our recent post.
