are awesome, but what are the holidays without a few cookies?
In Disney, there are dozens of types of holiday cookies to choose from, but I always head straight to the Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom to find the really creative ones!
And this visit was no different. Every year I find different options, and they’re all as festive and fun and can be. Let’s take a look at the 2012 editions of the Main Street Bakery holiday cookies!
Santa Mickey Sugar Cookies
I am a sugar cookie fiend — especially when they’re iced (you’re not surprised, are you?!) — and these ones absolutely stole my heart when I saw them in the bakery case!

This simple design represents Santa himself — complete with his little belt and belt buckle! Later in the week I saw these cookies made with a much larger belt and belt buckle, so there may be a few different versions out there depending on who’s manning the icing counter at the Bakery! 😉
But it’s not always what’s on top that counts! These soft, chewy butter cookies are always worth getting at the bakery. They’re delicious, and have a rich, sweet taste that’s the essence of Christmas baking for me.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have that awesomely thick glaze icing topping… 🙂 While it’s not as hard as a royal icing, it is set, so the cookies won’t be that messy.
Gingerbread Cookies
Next up? The classic gingerbread cookie!
I loved how traditional this was, and the icing outline around the cookie is the perfect way to set the stage for an old-fashioned looking Christmas cookie. The sugar holly leaves and berries were a fun touch, too!
Gingerbread Man Cookie
He smelled so good that I promptly snapped his little leg off to try it! The gingerbread isn’t a dark, super-spicy version, so if you’ve got picky eaters in your brood, this cookie should still work well. I enjoyed it (but not as much as that awesome sugar/butter cookie above)! ;-D

So if Christmas isn’t complete for you without a cookie or two, definitely head to Main Street Bakery to get your fix! They always have the most unique options there — and it’s well worth a visit!

I wish I had known they were soft butter cookies! We saw them last week and I just figured they would be hard so I never tried them. 🙁

When I saw the red in the shop I thought of Mickey’s shorts. Of COURSE it’s Santa! Mickey doesn’t have a belt.

We got the gingerbread men from the American pavilion CS in Epcot (they had a little gingerbread hut to sell them). It was cute and of a good size, but the flavor was best described as brown–not spicy or gingery at all. That was kind of a disappointment (not that it stopped us from eating them), but the gingerbread cupcake with the MM Santa hat was a hug hit with my usually fussy son, who licked the paper clean. Worth seeking out at various bakeries and CS places. We got ours at Backlot Express as dessert with the QSDP.
I just love the soft iced Christmas cut outs. They have an almond taste. I wish I could get the recipe.
How can I get the recipe for the Disney cut out cookies. They are soft with an amazing almond taste. I did buy five to place on my cookie platters, but I would love to make these.
