The world has seen many big losses this year and unfortunately we have another to report.
Today, October 11th, Dame Angela Lansbury has passed away just a few days before her 97th birthday. She was an actress known for many Disney roles and became a Disney legend in 1995.
You may recognize her from several roles in Disney movies including Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, Miss Eglantine Price from Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and as the Balloon Lady in Mary Poppins Returns.
Lansbury’s family made this statement: “The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday. In addition to her three children, Anthony, Deirdre and David, she is survived by three grandchildren, Peter, Katherine and Ian, plus five great grandchildren and her brother, producer Edgar Lansbury. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Peter Shaw. A private family ceremony will be held at a date to be determined.”
Our hearts go out to Angela Lansbury’s family and loved ones at this time.
