If you’ve ever dreamed of staying inside a Disney World park after closing time so that you could get on more rides and enjoy the atmosphere without the big crowds, there’s a simple way to make that happen — just stay at a Disney Deluxe hotel!
Guests at Disney Deluxe Resorts can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours, which allows them to stay late at certain parks on select days. The Extended Evening Hours perk was introduced in late 2021 as one of the replacements for Extra Magic Hours (which ended in 2020). Now, Disney has revealed more about how long this perk will stick around.
According to Disney’s webpage for Extended Evening Hours, this benefit will continue through all of 2024 at least.
They have not announced whether it will end after 2024 or continue beyond that point.
Extended Evening Hours are available for guests staying at any of these Disney World hotels:
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
- Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort

The extra hours are usually available on Monday and Wednesday nights, and they’re most often held at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, although we’ve seen them happen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on occasion as well. Check out the full schedule here and learn more about this benefit.

Guests at Shades of Green also get the Extended Evening Hours.

I though Shade of Green was included in the deluxe extra magic hours?

I’m still annoyed that all Disney resorts used to get this perk but it was taken away from Moderate and Value resorts. We prefer evening to morning so the extra half hour in the morning doesn’t help us much. I’m all for Deluxe having extra perks but not by taking existing perks away from the other resorts. Every resort is expensive compared to other hotels.

Huh. Who says Disney is only catering to the upper class that can afford to stay at Deluxe Resorts? I remember when they offered late nights to everyone for a nominal fee. I’m sure Disney is really needing the money though. I miss the old Disney that catered to everyone. Walt would absolutely hate this.

Just enjoyed this at Epcot. I wish it was an hour longer there because 9pm is the fireworks and the start of the Extended hours. We skipped the fireworks and were able to get on Soarin, Test Track, and GOTG all as walk ons. Would have done Remy but 1 in the party was gimpy.
I’d be interested in the MK ones but I usually leave Wed AM. But I would have to believe the later you stay there the 12Am on time will be less crowded and lines will be down.
Dottyanna says
Not. Worth. It.
We went to both Epcot and MK extended evening hours. Most guests are walking around after the first hour looking for something to ride as not all rides are available. When we went to MK, 7DMT was down the entire evening. Not to mention that Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, People Mover are not available during that time. And ALL of World Showcase in Epcot shuts down except for the three rides. Don’t get me started on lack of food availability. We will never do ext evening hours again or stay on Disney property until they increase the perks to do so.

This is a great perk for staying at the nice properties. Love that they do this.
