In case you haven’t noticed, we LOVE Disney food, and we take every opportunity we can to try ALL of the Disney food — in the parks, on the cruises, and even overseas!
A good friend of ours, Heather Sievers, recently got a chance to cross the Pacific and explore Tokyo Disneyland and explore their restaurants!
Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina is in the Lost River Delta port-of-call at Tokyo DisneySea and serve food inspired by Mexico and the North American southwest. It is themed as a weathered cantina in the remote jungle, which fits well with the story of the Lost River Delta.
The backstory here is that the owner Miguel went to El Dorado (the “City of Gold”) with aspirations of finding gold. But since he never found the fortune he sought, he settled by opening a cantina for other explorers to rest and spend some of their coin. When we visited Miguel’s, we had the opportunity to taste some snacks themed after one of Duffy the Bear’s newest friends, LinaBell.
Duffy the Bear has a HUGE fan club in the Disney Parks in Japan. He might even rival Mickey in terms of popularity (but we all know who’s really #1). He has a whole backstory and heroic journey that you can read more about HERE.
Disney describes LinaBell as “…a fox with an inquisitive mind and the intelligence that supports it. She finds joy and excitement in solving problems and mysteries.” So, she’s a little pink, foxy version of Dora the Explorer. She seems precious, and we LOVE the adorable snacks that Tokyo Disney has been known for, so let’s head in to check out these new LinaBell snacks!
As we mentioned, Miguel’s is a counter service restaurant, so guests place their order with a Cast Member and pay at a register, collect their food at the counter, and then find a spot to sit in the open seating areas. It is very similar to the process in Disney World Counter Service locations. The menus have English translations, and there are often displays of the food with descriptions to help guests determine what they’d like to order.
After pursuing the food displays and the menus, we approached the Cast Member to place our order.
And once we ordered and paid, we proceeded to the counter to collect our order.
While we waited, it was fun to see the different drink options and determine if we’d tried any of these drinks at Club Cool in EPCOT.
If you didn’t order a drink, there are water fountains and cups for you to help yourself to some water.
Once we collected our food, it was time to find a seat. Now, Miguel’s is just HUGE, with two levels of seating, plus outdoor seating. And it was pretty empty during our visit. There were plenty of plexiglass or acrylic partitions for health and safety. We had our choice of options from the main level seating area…

It was such a pretty day that we decided to dine outside.
Now that we have our seat and our pretty view, let’s take a look at what we ordered!
We started with the Miguel’s Special Set, which was a Pita Sandwich with Beans, Curry, and Cheese Sauce, with a side of Corn Chips.
This was a plant-based option and was full of flavor. The beans had a falafel-type consistency to them, and the flavorful spice from the curry really amped up the savory tones. And the fact that it was wrapped up in a LinaBell-pink flatbread was just the perfect presentation.
Next up was LinaBell’s Tapioca Tea.
We couldn’t pass up that furry little LinaBell souvenir cup sleeve, which was just perfect on this drink! The tea itself was frothy and sweet, but not too thick, and those tapioca balls provided the perfect little pop of flavor. We indulged in a few desserts, the first being the Lychee Mousse with Jellied Raspberry (which we snagged with the souvenir plate to go with our LinaBell cup sleeve).
It even has the little purple flower, just like LinaBell!
The lychee was subtle, and the mousse was so light it was almost like whipped cream! It was on a simple white cake base. This was one of those desserts you could eat a whole dozen of. So light and sweet.
And finally, we snagged that Cream Cheese Cookie Sandwich
The filling was more like cheesecake than just straight cream cheese, and the cookies were just simple sugar cookies. There was nothing truly standout about this little dessert, but it was also simple and perfect for just a classic sweet tooth craving. Though all of the snacks we had were good, it was the little LinaBell touches that made them special.
We enjoyed our venture over to Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina, and though nothing was a super standout snack, everything was good and super cute. If anything, we became even bigger LinaBell fans, because how could not love that cute pink, foxy face!?!
