It’s been a BIG week for Disney announcements.
We learned that both Annual Pass and park ticket prices would be going up — with the latter now being subject to surge pricing. Not only that, but Disney also revealed a new dining cancelation policy across the parks as well. The news doesn’t stop there, though, because it’s time for another look at the biggest construction updates from around Disney World!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
Things are seriously starting to take shape over underneath the TRON canopy — railings have been added, more concrete walls and walkways have been laid, and we’ve even got some trees in the construction zone!
In addition to the trees, we can also see some shrubs and other landscaping has been installed in the area. We’re still on the lookout for any updates from Disney on what this attraction looks like on the inside, so stay tuned!

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Things are moving along over in Tomorrowland as well — the exterior facade refurbishment of Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. appears to be coming along. Right now, the store is closed to customers, but you can find all your space-themed Disney needs at Star Traders instead.
We’re not sure how long this refurbishment will take, so stay tuned for the latest!
Walt Disney World Railroad
We saw something VERY exciting the other morning in Magic Kingdom — the TRAIN was at the Main Street, U.S.A. station!
We saw it leave the station, and later ran into it again over in Fantasyland.
It’s still closed to guests, but hopefully, this testing means we’re close to being able to climb aboard again. We’ll let you know of any updates!

EPCOT
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza
Is it just us, or is the CommuniCore Hall building actually stretching? Okay, maybe not stretching, but it IS getting bigger. You can see just how large the structure actually is just underneath Spaceship Earth in the below photo.
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will be EPCOT’s new festival center, featuring gardens, a stage, and more.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
On the other side of all the EPCOT construction is the future home of Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. What started as grey rocks have become brownish rocks, and then brownish rocks with green moss on them. It’s been quite the whirlwind.
Eventually, though, this will be an immersive, walk-through, water-based attraction — and we can’t wait to check it out! Keep your calendars marked for late 2023.

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Not much has changed at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ — at least from what we can see. What appears to be a sign has been installed out front with some lanterns above to illuminate it. From this angle, you can get an idea of how huge those toys are and how small we’re supposed to feel!
This restaurant is slated to open sometime this year — so stay tuned for updates!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas
There’s a huge renovation underway at Disney’s BoardWalk — not only will there be a refreshed lobby, rooms, and more, but a new restaurant will open up where the ESPN Club used to be. The Cake Bake Shop is a new table service restaurant and bakery coming to Disney World by Gwendolyn Rogers.
You can expect this restaurant to open sometime in 2023.
