As we reported earlier this month, the popular Boardwalk Bakery is now closed for a winter refurbishment. You can see more details about the bakery refurbishment here!
While work is going on inside the shop through Friday, April 26th, a temporary tent has been erected on the Boardwalk to serve the some of the quick service needs in the area.
These temporary site is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It is serving some, but not all, of the Boardwalk favorites. Notably missing are many of the cake and pastry items.
Everything at the temporary location is “Grab and Go.” And there’s a refrigerator case offering drinks, fruit, salads, and other grab and go items.
There are some cookies and prewrapped baked items, but not the usual bounty.
Luckily for many of us heading to rope drop, coffee is available at the temporary location.
If you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, there are quick-service options available.
All items are premade on the lunch and dinner menu.
Refillable mugs can be topped off at the nearby pizza window, and ample outdoor seating is available at cafe tables overlooking the water.
The temporary location is open from 6:30am-11pm (subject to change). When the bakery refurb is finished, fans of the old-fashioned bakery can expect a new entrance, queue area, and refillable mug station to be added. More menu items will also be added, like soups and even more sandwiches.
The renovation is expected to be completed in late April. I can’t wait!

I was so hoping to see a breakfast sandwich on that temporary menu board! Where would be the closest spot for one- BC Marketplace?
Erin Foster says
Kelli – There was no cooking area in the temporary tent, so no hot food. Yes, the BC Marketplace would be the closest non-park spot to get a breakfast sandwich. However, if you’re heading to Epcot (or you have a park hopper) and it’s after 9:00 a.m. you can also get croissant sandwiches and other brunchy savories at the new bakery in France. If there’s no line at security, your walk to France wouldn’t be much further than the BC.

I know it’s temporary, but boy that tent looks shabby. Too bad they didn’t utilize one of the Food and Wine Booths instead.
Pudge the Fish says
My same thought too Heather. Maybe offering a limited selection at Seashore Sweets or under the surrey cart rental gazebo would have been nice too.

Color me unimpressed. We’re going at the end of Feb and I was hoping to see some breakfast sandwiches here. BC Marketplace is a madhouse in the mornings as it is, I can’t imagine what it will be like with additional patrons from Boardwalk.

Boardwalk bakery is an absolute for me. We stay at the beach club every year and each morning it’s an ‘adventure’ for me to take the kids for a 1-2 mile walk around the lake before stopping in to get our breakfast treats. Gives mom a chance to hit the gym while I get us ready for the day ahead. Ill be glad when the renovation is done and glad it’s not during the time we go.

Does that mean no cheesecake brownie?!?!
Katie says
Was there any cupcakes?? That is the only reason we go to the bakery.
Gabriella says
They need to make it as big as the new Boulangerie Patisserie. We’re always put off by the small space and long line.
Colette says
It would be ace if they started selling the BWB cupcakes at the Beach Club Marketplace
