Going to Disney World is not inexpensive, although we do our best to help you save money when you’re planning a trip.
One aspect that makes things more difficult is the new surge pricing, which affects everything from one-day park tickets to Genie+. However, sometimes surge pricing can work in your favor, like today, when the price of Genie+ is the lowest we’ve seen all week.
With this being a holiday week, it means the parks have been more crowded and there’s been high pricing for Genie+ nearly all the week — in fact, we saw the highest price EVER for Genie+ going into this week: $29 per person per day!
However, as of today, the price of Genie+ has dropped drastically. Today, the price for Genie+ is $17 per day.
The cost of Individual Lightning Lane has also gone down for those rides that have it. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom is $10 per person…
…Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT is $14 per person…
…Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is $13 per person…
…and Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is $17 per person.
This basically means that demand for Genie+ and the Individual Lightning Lane attractions is lower today, so Disney is potentially expecting the parks to be less crowded. According to the park pass reservation calendar, Magic Kingdom is the only park sold out today for some guests. So that could mean today is a good day to go to Disney World if you want to avoid big crowds!

Raise the price a lot and then drop the price a little. Shame On You Disney. My family and I were in Disney in 2019. The crowds were large. We all had the Free Fast Pass. We went to all four parks and we went on all the rides in each park. No delays and no breakdowns. We were not inconvenienced in any way. Disney please do not insult me by saying that
1. Elimination Of Fast Pass
2. Introduction Of Genie plus
3. Introduction Of Lightening Lane
will make my Disney Vacation better for me. All it did was make money for Disney. SHAME ON YOU DISNEY

I’m wondering if this is due to surge pricing or Iger trying to slowly reverse Chapek’s BS. I’m hoping the latter. I will not be paying for lightning lane or Genie plus even if it means I miss out on rides. There’s a lot more to the parks than the rides. I’ve actually made plans to visit the parks now that Chapek is gone…I’d been refusing to go as my silent protest. I know, they didn’t miss me, but it was the principle of the thing.

So I’m at MK today and it’s $20 for me not $17.

Our last trip was in in May 2019. A 3 day pass (no park hopper) was around $330 & fast pass was free. Fast forward to May 2023 tickets, plus genie+ & lightning lane now almost $600, almost a 100% increase
