There are many ways to add a Disney spin to your Christmas celebrations.
If you’re celebrating in the parks, don’t miss the special holiday entertainment, and there are tons of holiday snacks to grab for a few more days! Christmas Day can bring some substantial crowds in the parks though, so many guests may be purchasing Disney Genie+ to try and skip the lines. Let’s take a second now to look at what it costs to skip the lines in Disney World on Christmas Day!
Yesterday, Christmas Eve, Genie+ cost $29. And today, Christmas Day 2022, Disney Genie+ costs (drum roll please)…$29 per person. So the price is the same, but it remains at the highest price point we’ve seen so far.
But remember that not all rides are available through the Genie+ service. To skip the lines at some of the most popular rides in the parks, you’ll need to buy an Individual Lightning Lane for those rides (this is through the pay-per-ride service).
Looking at rides with only Individual Lightning Lanes, these are their prices for Christmas Day 2022:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom) — $12
- Avatar: Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom) — $16
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios) — $25
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT) — $17
These prices are pretty comparable to what we’ve seen in recent days, around the holidays.
We did notice some discrepancies on the My Disney Experience app this morning, though. At one point, an Individual Lightning Lane appeared to be available for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for one of our team members, while another saw it as sold out. Moments later, availability seemingly popped up and then quickly sold out again. If you’re in Disney World looking to grab those, our best advice is to keep checking the app for any updates.
If you’ll be visiting Disney World during a holiday keep in mind that Genie+ does have surge pricing — as identified above — so it will be more expensive on higher-demand days. Pricing could continue to change in the upcoming days as we get closer to New Year’s Eve and other holidays in 2023.

Mark Schmidt says
I would never pay anything for Genie.
Was just in MK on Dec 20, what a joke.
Way over capacity at 8pm people at the end of main st. Were told to turn right turn left or head to the exit. There was no futher room in the park.
So Disney over packs the park so they can make money off Genie.
I have been visting for 40years . So disappointed in what it has become.
