Big things are coming to Disney World in 2023!
So much has bee announced lately from the opening timeline for TRON Lightcycle Run to the closing date for Splash Mountain to the return of character dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table. While we’re super excited about everything heading our way, you know our passion lies with Disney food so let’s recap all of the new restaurants opening in 2023.
Disney typically keeps exact opening dates to themselves until pretty close to the actual day so while we don’t have exact dates for these restaurant openings, we do know that they have been announced as opening in 2023.
Rodeo Roundup BBQ
Rodeo Roundup BBQ was initially supposed to open sometime in 2020 but obviously, some stuff happened that year that made opening unlikely. (We’re looking at you COVID.) Disney then reschedule the opening timeline for 2022 but as the year went on, we felt like that was pretty unlikely.
So we weren’t really surprised when Disney announced this restaurant would actually open in the Spring of 2023. This dining experience has been described by Disney as a “unique, fun, family-friendly dining” with the restaurant’s design based off of toys, games, and playsets “that Andy has brought together to create his one-of-a-kind rodeo.”
The restaurant will service barbecue-inspired comfort food that will be served family style. The food will consist of platters of house-smoked meats, sides, and some mini-sweet surprises.
Disney says guests will be able to experience “firsthand what it feels like to be one of Andy’s toys.” Imagineers said Andy created his rodeo roundup using western town and train station playsets and some Pixar characters like they’ve never been seen before.

Carrousel Coffee
Outside of the theme parks, Disney has quite a few things for guests to look forward to! The one that we think will be opening soonest is Carousel Coffee over at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn.
This new coffee shop will be “opening soon” according to Disney but we don’t have an opening date just yet. Disney has released the menu and pricing, though.
The shop will be serving up coffee, tea, and pastries as well as some Joffrey’s Coffee options.
Disney confirmed that they will offer a Dark Cherry Mocha Frozen Blended Coffee and Whipped Cream drink, a Nitro Cold Brew option, several seasonal options like the Cinnamon Bun Frozen Blended Coffee with Whipped Cream, and more! There will also be a Pomegranate-Green Tea Lemonade which is made with fresh-squeezed lemon juice mixed with pomegranate green tea and agave.
Not only that but guests can expect to find a Crunchy Raspberry Danish, Vintage Mickey & Minnie Sugar Cookie, Banana Bread, Croissant, Blueberry Muffin, Chocolate Muffin, NJ Crumb Cake, Bagels, and a Mickey Brownie.

The Cake Bake Shop
Also at the Boardwalk Inn, guests can expect the Cake Bake Shop in 2023! As the Boardwalk has undergone some major renovations, the Cake Bake Shop will be replacing the former ESPN Club restaurant and we can’t wait!
This table service restaurant will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner with a menu full of both sweet and savory options. Guests will also be able to grab a sweet treat or two from the to-go bakery case or even enjoy an afternoon tea service. We actually got to do an exclusive interview with Gwendolyn Rogers, owner of the Cake Bake Shop, back in April of this year!
Based on other locations of the Cake Bake Shop, we expect this table service location to be light, airy, and upscaled.
Sounds delicious, right?!

Rosa Mexicano
Next up, we’re heading to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel. In 2023, we can expect to see Rosa Mexicano open at this resort and we are super excited. Rosa Mexicano is an “elevated fiesta dining experience” that will feature Mexican cuisine and awarding winning margaritas.
This restaurant is expected to open in early 2023 but we actually got a taste of what’s to come this year at the 2022 Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic. You can check out our review here.
The restaurant will offer a contemporary interpretation of authentic Mexican cuisine and its signature frozen pomegranate margarita. The restaurant will be located in the Dolphin Hotel.

Summer House on the Lake
Finally, we’re going to Disney Springs for Summer House on the Lake. Summer House on the Lake is the last restaurant we currently know is expected to open sometime in 2023.
We had the opportunity to visit the Summer House location in Chicago.
Disney hasn’t released what this menu might look like just yet.
But existing locations of the restaurant feature pizzas, sandwiches, salads, pasta, wood-grilled dishes, and more.
You can read our full Summer House review here!
Currently Summer House Santa Monica offers brunch and special private parties so we could potentially see that in the Disney Springs location as well.
While we are super excited about all of these new offerings coming to Disney World in 2023, there is so much more coming that we haven’t even scratched the surface of in this post!
