We’ve officially entered a slower season in Disney World, but it doesn’t always feel like it!
Although this time of year is typically not as busy as the holidays or spring break time, there are plenty of things happening in the parks to draw people in. The Festival of the Arts is happening over in EPCOT right now, a popular Princess meet and greet is reopening, TRON Lightcycle / Run is getting closer to its opening (which means previews are coming soon), and so much more. So how is all of this impacting the wait times?
Last week we saw some of the really high wait times from the leftover holiday crowds take a big drop. Even though the wait times have gone down significantly, there are some times where you still could benefit from purchasing Genie+.
Genie+ is Disney’s skip-the-line system that allows you to book a time to use the Lightning Lane for an expedited wait time. This can be a huge time-saver in parks like Hollywood Studios where most rides have long wait times throughout the day. The price of Genie+ depends on the day since Disney introduced flexible pricing earlier this year, however we’ve seen the price fluctuate between $15 and $29 per person per day.
Without further ado, let’s look at those wait times!
Magic Kingdom
We’re starting at Magic Kingdom, where Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time at 74 minutes this week! Last week the average wait time was 83 minutes, so this is a pretty significant decrease.
Next, Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 57 minutes, Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise averaged 44 minutes, and Splash Mountain averaged 42 minutes. After that, the ride averages put Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Haunted Mansion at 39 minutes, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 31 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 30 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 29 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean at 26 minutes.
After that, The Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini averaged 21 minutes, “it’s a small world” and Magic. Carpets of Aladdin averaged 20 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid averaged 16 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant averaged 16 minutes. Then, Tomorrowland Speedway and Mickey’s PhilharMagic averaged 11 minutes.
Next, Mad Tea Party and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel averaged 10 minutes. The Enchanted Tiki Room, the Carousel of Progress, the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and the Liberty Square Riverboat all averaged 5 minutes.
The Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, and Tom Sawyer Island averaged no wait.

EPCOT
Over in EPCOT, the ride with the longest average wait time was Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, with an average wait time of 81 minutes, which is an increase compared to last week’s average of 77 minutes. Frozen Ever After had an average wait time of 64 minutes, which means the average wait time decreased 4 minutes since last week.
Next up is Test Track at 51 minutes, Soarin’ at 35 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 22 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 17 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 13 minutes, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 11 minutes.
Then, there was Journey into Imagination at 10 minutes, Living with the Land at 10 minutes, and Gran Fiesta Tour at 8 minutes.
Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China had no wait times this week.

Hollywood Studios
It was a close call for the highest wait time in Hollywood Studios, but ultimately Rise of the Resistance won with a 100 minute average wait time. Tower of Terror was a close second with a 99 minute average. Slinky Dog Dash also had a long average wait time of 75 minutes.
Next, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith averaged 62 minutes, Toy Story Mania averaged 58 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway averaged 57 minutes, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run averaged 44 minutes.
After that, Alien Swirling Saucers averaged 31 minutes, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue averaged 20 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy and Muppet*Vision 3D averaged 10 minutes, and Walt Disney Presents averaged 7 minutes.

Animal Kingdom
And last but not least, let’s visit Animal Kingdom, where Avatar Flight of Passage had the longest average wait time of 105 minutes. The average dropped from 173 minutes to 114 minutes the week before, so the wait time is continuing in a downward trend.
Then, there was Na’vi River Journey at 61 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris at 35 minutes, Expedition Everest at 24 minutes, and DINOSAUR at 23 minutes.
Triceratop Spin averaged 9 minutes and It’s Tough to Be a Bug averaged 11 minutes. Both The Boneyard and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail averaged no wait time. Kali River Rapids closed for refurbishment on January 9th.

Overall, the wait times have continued to decrease after that massive drop last week. That being said, there are still plenty of long wait times that could make buying Genie+ worth it depending on the priorities of your group.

Thanks, Emily! WDW should work to get it like this All The Time. Pretty good except for AK headliners and Avatar.
