If you love croissants, cheese, chocolate, and beignets, there is ONE place you need to visit during EPCOT’s 2023 Flower & Garden Festival.
With so many food booths available and tons of NEW eats to try, it can be overwhelming to know where to go and what’s worth your time and money. Don’t stress, we can help! We’ve been visiting ALL of the Flower & Garden Festival booths and sharing full reviews with you to help you decide what to add to your must-get list. And now we’re heading to the Fleur de Lys booth in the France pavilion to share all the juicy details with you.
Menu
At Fleur de Lys, many items are returning, but this year also brings us 2 new snacks and 1 new drink.
So what should you opt for while here? Let’s break down each menu item to find out.
Eats
We’ll start our “eats” portion with the returning Croissant au Fromage de Chèvre, Herbes et Ail Rôtie. This was new in 2022 and we’re happy to see it has returned! The dish is a croissant with goat cheese, herbs, and roasted garlic.
When we had it in 2022, we found that it had a lovely, crispy, buttery outside, with a soft inside filled with goat cheese that worked so well with the light herbs and garlic.
This year, we ordered it again and we were NOT let down! It was absolutely heavenly — crispy, flaky bread around super soft, thick goat cheese. Rich and beautiful but possibly too intense for the summer heat. It was buttery and lovely, just like we remembered! Order it for $4.75.
Next up, we have a NEW dish — the Daube de Boeuf à la Provençal, Compote de Tomate au Romarin Gnocchi à la Niçoise. This is a Provençal-style braised beef, rosemary tomato, and niçoise gnocchi, and it’s priced at $7.55.
Beef, tomato, and gnocchi — how could you go wrong, right?! In all honesty…it’s super delicious! The gnocchi was soft and very mild in flavor while still being tasty. That braised beef was like the perfect melty slow cooker taste, and it really won the dish for us.
Our next item was another new one — the Tarte Chocolat Mogador, priced at $8.50. This is a chocolate tart with Valrhona single-origin chocolate brownie, walnuts, and raspberry coulis served warm. Sounds like a chocolate lover’s dream come true, and it absolutely was.
It’s very rich and nutty and crunchy. The tart was thick like a chunky brownie and the raspberry flavor really came through. It’s amazing if you love luxury chocolate, but it’s a little bit heavy for the heat.
Finally, we rounded things out with another dessert (of course) — the returning Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel. This is a caramelized beignet filled with vanilla cream and glazed with caramel fleur de sel, and it’s priced at $5.95.
This has been on the menu for a little while, and when we had it back in 2022 we loved it! The beignet is thicker than your usual one (so just keep that in mind!), but the crystallized caramel glaze has been INCREDIBLE and it has sometimes made our list of the best items at the festival. So, did it deliver in 2023?
Well, this time around we found that the topping was so hard that it almost cracked a tooth! However, the bread was super fluffy and the filling was creamy. It’s extremely sweet and wonderful, but it’s definitely a shareable dessert because of its size and sugar content.
And that’s it for the eats at this booth, so let’s move on to the drinks!
Drinks
If you want a beer here, there’s the Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 Draft Beer. This was last offered in 2021. Grab the beer for $5.50 for 6oz.
Next up we have the returning VeRy Raspberry for $6. This is a Rosé wine with a natural raspberry flavor. When we’ve had this in the past, we’ve found it to be much sweeter than a regular rosé, but not too sweet (at least for us). Plus, it has a nice dry finish which we really loved. If you want a lighter, sweeter, or more fruity drink, this could be a good one to try.
The next drink available here is the NEW Kir àla Poire. This is a French sparkling wine with Monin desert pear. You can try the wine for $9.
It’s a lovely flowery white pear-forward wine that we enjoyed a lot, but wasn’t too drastically different from other white wines. It’s semi-sweet and oaky, which didn’t totally match the warm weather. We still liked it nonetheless!
And finally, the last drink available here is the returning La Vie en Rose Frozen Slush. This drink is made with Vodka, Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and white and red cranberry juices, and is priced at $14.50.
In the past, we’ve found this drink to be VERY yummy! If you’re a fan of the more regularly offered alcoholic slushies within the France pavilion, this is one we’ve felt like you’d typically enjoy. We grabbed the drink again this year to see if it could live up to our memories and we were still impressed!
It’s light and sweet but not overwhelmingly so. It’s extremely refreshing even when it melts and perfect for a hot day in the parks.
And that’s it for this year at Fleur de Lys!
Overall
Overall, Fleur de Lys DELIVERS on delicious and unique flavors. The croissant is definitely one for goat cheese fans, while the beignet is a sweet treat we think a lot of people will enjoy (how can you go wrong with a caramelized beignet filled with cream!?). Pair that with some newer dishes and the iconic La Vie en Rose Frozen Slush, and you’ve got some real winners here.
We’re big fans of this booth and nearly everything we had was a winner. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy it just for fun!
Lots of new stuff to try at Fleur de Lys in the France Pavilion!
