Disney is full of fun nighttime shows.
Currently, we have Harmonious at EPCOT, Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom, and Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios. Soon we’ll even get to see the return of Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever for a limited time! But one popular nighttime show is about to be GONE.
Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life Nighttime Awakenings show begins after dark, when you’ll see a dazzling display lighting up the trunk, branches, and leaves of the Tree of Life. Throughout the show, hummingbirds, a fox, and a young doe, among other animals appear on the tree in a wintry forest. The projections were even updated recently to incorporate the new Avatar sequel.
However, as of Sunday, March 12th, no times are available for the foreseeable future on Disney’s website.
While Disney has not shared specifically why this will no longer be available, tomorrow is the start of Daylight Savings Time, where clocks are moved forward an hour for most of the United States. Since this show starts after sunset, and Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks on most days, it makes sense that there wouldn’t be shows available now that it will be lighter “later.”
It’s still unclear if this will return at some point, but we will keep our eyes open for any new developments. Stay tuned to DFB for more!

Jim says
It’s sad AK closes early – particularly in the Summer.
Lyn says
Has it been removed during daylight savings over the other years?
Justin says
I completely understand the reasons WHY Animal Kingdom closes earlier than all the other par, I’m still sort of mad that they do. Granted, with the exception of one or two attractions/shows, the whole park can be done in a single afternoon.
Glenys says
Still miss a night parade at Magic Kingdon, especially Spectro Magic. So many of the reasons we loved Disney gone now.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Lyn! Yes, last summer it shut down until a few nights in October, but wasn’t back on a nightly basis until November.
