There’s a NEW restaurant in Disney World, and we’re taking you INSIDE for a first look.
Rosa Mexicano is the newest table service restaurant at Disney World. It’s located at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and it opened on March 19, 2023. This is actually a chain restaurant, and the new spot is the first location in the Orlando area (there are other locations in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and a few other states). Come with us to see what it’s like!
Rosa Mexicano now occupies the space that was once home to Fresh Mediterranean Market in the Dolphin hotel. It boasts “an elevated fiesta dining experience,” with contemporary Mexican cuisine and a menu of over 100 varieties of tequila and agave-based spirits.
The restaurant is 5,500 square feet and has space for about 300 guests, including a 30-person bar and a private dining room for 50. If you’re not staying at the Dolphin hotel, you can still visit this restaurant. Access is available by boat or walkway from EPCOT’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or just hop on a bus to the Swan and Dolphin hotels from whichever Disney World park you’re visiting.
We stopped by to check out this new eatery!
Atmosphere
We loved the sleek, elegant look of this dining area, but it didn’t make you feel out of place if you aren’t dressed up. The colors all go together very nicely as well!
We really loved the open feel of this restaurant as well — you don’t feel too closed in or close to the other diners.
There are regular tables and high top bar seating. One thing we want to note is that there is no bathroom inside the restaurant. Instead, you’ll have to walk down a hallway outside of the restaurant — it’s not far, but you will have to leave the restaurant!
Food
We also really enjoyed the menu!
The drink menu had so many options to choose from…
…and so did the food menu! But we narrowed down our choices — it’s time to eat!
Even in the age of QR code menus, Rosa Mexicano had regular menus to peruse. Take a look at the full menus below!
FULL Menus Revealed for NEW Disney World Restaurant
For our appetizer, we grabbed classic Chips and Queso! This dish is made with Three-Cheese Blend, Roasted Tomato, Pickled Jalapeño, and Warm Corn Tortilla Chips.
We’ll tell you one thing — even before we tasted it, it certainly looked delicious!
We ordered two entrees and a side, but here’s a look at the full spread!

The first entree we decided to try was the Birria Quesatacos made with Braised Angus Beef Brisket, Queso Oaxaca, Cilantro, Onions, Consommé Dip, and Corn Tortillas with a side of Rice. We’re drooling just looking at those!
We also snagged the Roasted Chicken Suizas! These chicken enchiladas have Tomatillo Salsa Verde, Chihuahua Cheese, Crema, Cilantro, and Onion. Don’t they look pretty incredible?!
We couldn’t have a meal here and not order an extra side! We tried the Sweet Corn Esquites topped with Queso Fresco, Epazote, Charred Jalapeño Mayonnaise, and Chile de Árbol.
Remember that Rosa Mexicano is a table service restaurant, and it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner starting March 20th. There are currently only reservations for dinner available on OpenTable — learn more about that here!

I feel like certain areas of Disney mimic Las Vegas in terms of chains founded in NYC and celebrity chef restaurants.
That’s not a bad thing but I’d never stay at this resort, it’s full of NYC based restaurants I’ve been to often.

Meredith, I agree that they seem to be adding upscale chains rather than creating something new, but S&D are Marriott owned, not Disney. We stayed at the Swan and would definitely stay there again. The location is perfect for visiting Epcot and the Studios (you can even walk to those parks) and the hotels very nice, with discounts for nurses and teachers, among other professions. Il Mulino at the Swan is one of our favorite on property restaurants, with my late husband’s favorite tiramisu version. I’d love to see them add a Disney-themed “breakfast all day” American style diner on the property somewhere. Bet it would do a lot of business.

We stayed at the Swan for almost two weeks over Winter break 2022-23 and loved it. The location is perfect. We definitely would eat at Rosa Mexicano. The food looks delicious!
