Downtown Disney has been CHANGING lately.
Two restaurants and an iconic cupcake spot have all closed, a new table-service Earl of Sandwich has opened its doors, and Naples Ristorante e Bar has started serving brunch on the weekends! But now, chicken lovers will also have a new restaurant to check out, and we’ve got a full look at what you can enjoy.
Recently, it was revealed that Clyde’s Hot Chicken would be coming to Downtown Disney. This restaurant already has locations in Fullerton, Montclair, Santa Ana, Placentia, and Las Vegas. According to The Orange County Register, the food cart from Clyde’s Hot Chicken is now OPEN in Downtown Disney near the monorail station!
Clyde’s owner has indicated that they’d love to have a permanent location in Downtown Disney, but Disneyland officials have indicated that there are NO plans for a more permanent location for this restaurant (at this time).
So what will you find on the menu at the Clyde’s cart? Well, this spot prides itself on its chicken being 100% natural and without any antibiotics, preservatives, GMO, hormones, or artificial additives. But the menu here is much more streamlined than what you’d find at a regular Clyde’s restaurant.
In the “snacks” section you’ll find a Hot Stick Combo that comes with 5 pieces of chicken on a stick seasoned with your choice of heat level. It’s served with potato chips and sliced pickles.
There’s also a hot stick without the sides, and potato chips you can get on their own.
For the sauces, you can pick two — Clyde’s Sauce and Clyde’s Ranch. Both are priced at $1.
In terms of the heat levels, there are only 3 to pick from — Naked, Original, and Hot as Cali (renamed from the “Hot as Cluck” option available in their full restaurants). The restaurant’s “1930” level (with Habanero and Ghost Pepper) is not listed as an option.
In terms of drinks, the options are pretty basic with just bottled soft drinks and bottled water.
The cart is open generally from 11AM to 12AM (but hours can vary).
Again, this is a MUCH more streamlined menu compared to their usual spots. Their full restaurant menus also include sandwiches, wings, strips, waffles, mac & cheese, more sides, and even milkshakes. But for now, it seems their cart in Disney Springs won’t offer any of that (at least for now).
We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on this new restaurant, so stay tuned to DFB for more info.
