We just got BIG news for EPCOT!
For a while, we’ve been watching the changes happening at EPCOT. From little details, we’ve noticed this snack cart being rethemed to Communicore Hall being built. And Moana fans can meet her in Animal Kingdom and now, they can visit a new attraction inspired by her soon.
Before we get into the big news at EPCOT, if you are planning a trip to Disney World soon, you should check out our FREE checklists. This one is for EPCOT and can come straight to your inbox. This complete checklist is easy to pull up on your phone so you can make sure you aren’t missing a single thing there is to do and see in EPCOT.
Disney just announced that Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana will be opening… October 16th. Guests can anticipate a Moana character meet-and-greet, too!
In this attraction, guests will be able to explore what Disney has described as a “lush exploration trail” that allows explorers to “play with magical, living water” through an immersive walk-through attraction. In addition to the trail and interactive living water experiences, Disney has shared that guests will “learn about the importance of the natural water cycle.”
We have been monitoring the progress of the attraction for months now and we are happy to hear of the light at the end of the tunnel. In April, we got to see a video of the progression of the attraction.
We are very excited to finally see this area be completed. It is just one step closer to EPCOT’s transformation to be finished. For more Disney parks news, be sure to follow us at DFB by subscribing to our newsletter and following us on social media.

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend the Destination D23 event. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy. Thank you for sharing this great news with us! I remember a few weeks ago that you reported that cast members can explore it during previews. A cast member I know cannot find any mention of this on the HUB . Have these finished now or wasn’t this opportunity open to international cast members?
I would really appreciate it if you were able to inform me as to where on the hub we are able to book this or send me the link to your original article. Sadly they are opening this on the day we leave… 🙁
Many thanks as always your reporting is so helpful and invaluable especially to international guests.
