Now might be the BEST time to go to Disney World.
We officially made it through the spring break season and the grand opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom and now we’re gearing up for summer crowds in Disney World. Right now, we’re in the sweet spot where crowds are not too bad but it’s a more ideal time of year to be in the parks! Genie+ has held a lower price recently and wait times have continued to decrease, so we’re taking a deep dive into the wait times you can expect in Disney World right now!
Although wait times have gone down overall, there are still some long lines you may want to skip. One way to skip the long lines at certain attractions is rope dropping or staying until park close. Rope dropping is when you arrive at the park before opening time so you are one of the first people in the parks for the day. During this time, you can get on a ride or two without much of a wait! We’ve also noticed that wait times dip near the end of the night.
Another option you have is to purchase Genie+, which is Disney’s skip-the-line system. The price of Genie+ depends on the day since Disney introduced flexible pricing earlier this year, however, we’ve seen the price fluctuate between $15 and $35. Buying Genie+ will allow you to expedite your wait for many Disney World attractions.
Now, let’s take a look at the average wait times from this past week in all 4 Disney World parks!
Magic Kingdom
Starting in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time of 69 minutes. Last week the average wait time was 72 minutes and the week before that it was 75 minutes, so the time has continued to decrease.
Next, Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 61 minutes, Space Mountain averaged 46 minutes, and Jungle Cruise averaged 44 minutes. After that, average wait times had Haunted Mansion at 36 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 30 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 28 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 27 minutes, and Enchanted Tales with Belle averaged 23 minutes.
After that, “it’s a small world” averaged 18 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid and Magic Carpets of Aladdin averaged 19 minutes, The Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini and Tomorrowland Speedway averaged 15 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Mickey’s PhilharMagic averaged 14 minutes.

The Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and the Liberty Square Riverboat all averaged 5 minutes.

Rise of the Resistance took the second-place spot for the highest wait time in the park with 67 minutes. Just last week, the average wait time was 71 minutes, so the wait time also went down!
