Disney has a lot of huge projects in the works right now, and some of you might be wondering WHEN they’ll all finally be finished! Never fear — we’ve got the answers.
Between all of the exciting announcements about park pass reservation changes, dining plans returning, and the ways Genie+ could be changing soon, it’s clear that there’s a lot going on behind the scenes at Disney. The Walt Disney Company’s latest earnings call meeting confirmed quite a few things that we’ve been keeping an eye on!
The Walt Disney Company just had its earnings call meeting for quarter 2 of fiscal year 2023 and confirmed several timelines for projects happening at the parks & resorts, on streaming services, for theatrical releases, and more. Many of these timelines had already been confirmed, but now you can see them ALL in one easy-to-understand way.
First up, we have the upcoming theatrical releases!
Immediately looking at this chart we see some very anticipated productions like The Little Mermaid live-action movie (debuting so soon!) which comes out on May 26th.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will debut on June 30th…
…the live-action Haunted Mansion will be released on July 28th, just in time to kick off the Halloween celebrations around the Disney parks a few weeks later…
…and Wish the animated family film coming to theaters on November 22nd. These headlining titles to watch for are going to be distributed through various brands within the Disney umbrella like Disney Animation, Lucasfilm, 20th Century (formerly Fox), Searchlight, and Marvel.
Next up we have timelines confirmed for key Disney+ and Hulu releases!
While not quite getting the big silver screen treatment as the previously listed films, these sound like some great movies to keep an eye out for. Titles like Loki‘s season 2 and Only Murders in the Building‘s season 3 have drawn great numbers in audience views for their previous seasons and they’re looking to strike gold again for a second or third time around.
Titles like X-Men ’97 may be new but given their familiarity in previous films and television shows, we get a sense that the audience will feel connected enough to the characters to give this one a fair watch.
Let’s switch gears and talk about what’s upcoming for Disney parks and experiences! There’s a LOT coming to the various Disney parks around the world.
If you didn’t already see Disney Cruise Line is celebrating its 25th Silver Anniversary at Sea and they will continue that celebration through September of 2023.
For our Disneyland folks, we’ve got new experiences to look forward to like “Rogers: The Musical” Stage Show opening June 3oth, 2023 and San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure Park confirmed now to open this summer! Other anticipated timelines aren’t as definitive, like the Adventureland Treehouse in Disneyland which will open in 2023, but no specific month or day is listed yet.
If you’re following the progress of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction well, it seems like we’re not quite “almost there”…yet!
The timeline confirms we’re still on track for a 2024 opening but Disney isn’t committing to an anticipated season just yet so we’ll have to keep waiting for more insight on this one.
While we knew most of these opening dates and timelines already, it’s great to see them all in one place. We’ll be watching for more updates on all the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB!

Hey Myranda,
Thanks for the great article! I can’t wait to watch Season 2 of Loki. I’m lucky enough to take my family to Disney in July – but going to be too early to catch the new Moana ride! Shucks! Thanks again for the great article!
