Something NEW has arrived in Magic Kingdom and it might make you laugh hysterically, reach for 5,000 napkins, and suffer a small about of emotional pain. Yes, all of that, from one little thing.
We’ve seen a number of changes hit Magic Kingdom, from adjustments at Cinderella Castle to construction updates as Splash Mountain transforms into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. But now, a NEW snack has arrived and it is something you just HAVE to see.
Introducing the NEW Mike Wazowski CAKE! We first shared the news about this little creature a few days ago, but now he is HERE. The treat itself is an Orange Blossom Mango Mousse Cake with a Candy Eye, priced at $8.29. And while the image of this snack had us VERY excited, our snack experience was…interesting, to say the least.
For starters, let’s talk about where you can get our little Mike the cake friend. You’ll find it over at The Lunching Pad in Magic Kingdom.
Now, let’s go through the Mike Cake drama. Our first attempt with this cake left us with…well, a VERY melty Mike. Seems like someone didn’t remember to bring their neck fan and water bottle to Magic Kingdom — a rookie mistake!
Within just a few minutes, Mike was melting away before our very eyes.
And quickly, we were left with…a very deflated Mike. Oh, buddy, we know the feeling. It’s just too hot for you and we can relate.
Seriously, y’all allow this to be a PSA for your summer trips to Disney World — bring the neck fan, bring the cooling towel, bring the water bottle, get into the air conditioning when you can — do NOT end up like our friend Mike here.
We couldn’t give up on Mike so we made a second purchase to see if he could hold up a little better and it sort of worked?
Look who just landed in Tomorrowland – it’s Mike Wazowski (as mousse)!

We even got to snap some photos of him in a few different Tomorrowland spots before he totally gave up. This is a Mike who has at least managed to stay hydrated. He’s sweating on the outside but somehow managing to keep it together — YOU GO MIKE.
Okay, okay, now let’s talk about the taste. So, here’s the thing. The snack is described as a “cake” and Disney says it should be an Orange Blossom Mango Mousse Cake, and there is a mousse portion to this snack, but a lot of it was more like Orange Blossom Mango soup?
From what we experienced, the snack is really runny on the inside (it’s not all falling out just because of the heat). We bought the snack on its first day of availability, so it could be that Disney is still working out some textural matters with this treat, or perhaps it is really meant to be this way.
Either way, we enjoyed the mango filling. It was creamy, gooey, and had a strong flavor to it. There was some mousse inside and that was fluffy and paired nicely with the mango flavors. The outside green layer was soft and easy to break, and the treat as a whole was light and not overly sweet.
As we’ve discussed, it can melt extremely fast, and it may even start to break open on its own so you’ll want to eat this QUICKLY. Also, if you aren’t a fan of mango flavors, you’ll want to stay away from this one because the mango is very strong.
Overall, if you are willing to sit down to eat this treat (it’s not one you can really eat on the go), love mango, and don’t mind getting a little messy (grab those napkins in advance!), give this treat a try! You can even pair it with the Sulley Slush from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café for a full Monsters, Inc. experience!
