Marvel has built quite a name for itself when it comes to box office hits — and the Captain America franchise is no different.
Back when it was first announced that a fourth Captain America movie was in the works, we knew we’d be in for an adventure that followed Sam Wilson as he takes up the shield. And now, in the wake of the Writers Guild of America Strike, we have another update on the film.
Marvel Studios recently announced that the fourth installment of the Captain America franchise has been retitled. The original title was Captain America: New World Order, but it looks like the studio has changed its mind — the new title is Captain America: Brave New World.
Marvel didn’t share the reason behind the name change but did share that the release date is still May 3rd, 2024, so that much has not changed — at least for now.
We recently reported that one Marvel production — Blade — had to stop production due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. It was supposed to begin filming in Atlanta in June, but the strike has delayed production. While Captain America: Brave New World, has already been written, it’s possible that the strike could affect the filming of this project too, as Marvel typically has a writer on set to rework scenes as needed.
If you can’t wait until 2024 to get your Captain America fix, don’t worry — you can watch all the Captain America and Avengers films on Disney+ right now. If you’re heading to Disney California Adventure soon, keep an eye out for Cap at Avengers Campus — and look out for Rogers: The Musical coming soon too!

I do not want Sam to be captain America’s new feature. Steve Rogers is captain America

This is great! I’m looking forward to more of Anthony Mackie playing Captain America especially after watching Captain America and the Winter Soldier series.

“Marvel didn’t share the reason behind the name change …”
They said the quiet part out loud: New World Order.
They can’t be too obvious for those who don’t ask too many questions, so they changed it. However, the new title “Brave New World” isn’t much better, as it recalls Aldous Huxley’s “Brave new World” novel. In it, “The novel examines a futuristic society, called the World State, that revolves around science and efficiency. In this society, emotions and individuality are conditioned out of children at a young age, and there are no lasting relationships because “every one belongs to every one else” (a common World State dictum).”
