Oh, if we had more disposable income. We’d have a house like John Stamos, where our furniture was just nothing but Disney ride vehicles, Disney props, and other Disney memorabilia.
Instead, we’re over here collecting nuiMos, Munchlings, and pins, but we do love to take a look at some of the cool online prop auctions we find. Now, we’ve found a NEW prop auction, and just WAIT until you see what Disney memorabilia is up for bidding!
So one of the items that got our attention may seem a little…well…bizarre (or AMAZING if you’re a serious Disney fan): you can bid on Figment Animatronic Skin! Okay, so this is the skin his animatronic wore on the Journey Into Imagination ride at EPCOT. It will only set you back AT LEAST $10,000.
If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’re going to go NUTS over this next item. It’s the Princess Leia Ceremonial Dress as seen in Star Wars: A New Hope. If you know anything about Star Wars costuming, you’ll know this dress has a HISTORY that goes beyond its time on film: it was once considered lost, but was found later in a London attic. It was meticulously cleaned and restored in a process that took EIGHT MONTHS. And, hey, the starting bid is only $500,000…
If you love The Enchanted Tiki Room, this is for you: you can bid on an Enchanted Tiki Room Fountain Shield once used in the attraction in Disneyland. This shield was cast from a sculpt by Imagineer Rolly Crump and then hand-painted. The back even has holes and scuffing where it was mounted in the Tiki Room. That’s history, folks. Bidding starts at $15,000.
There are a few more items up for bidding, too, including the ring worn by Captain Barbosa in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the promotional Rey’s Staff from Star Wars: A Force Awakens, a dress worn by Glenn Close in the live-action 101 Dalmations, and more. So head on over to the Prop Store Auction website to check it all out (or just indulge in some wishful thinking about where you’d put these items in your house, like we’re doing).
Heads up, though — when we looked at reviews for Prop Store, they weren’t great. Lots of complaints about high shipping costs and bad customer service. So if you do decide to indulge your desire for some Figment skin, do your research.
We’ll keep you updated on more Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
