Sure, EPCOT has a lot of fun rides, but do we really go to EPCOT JUST for the rides?
We also go for the food (obviously), mostly because we can literally eat and drink our way around the World (Showcase) in a single day! But within each World Showcase country pavilion are Cast Members FROM that country, and some of these international Cast Members recently shared some… interesting facts with us about where they’re from.
Let’s start in Mexico (yes, we ALWAYS start in Mexico, thank you very much) where a Cast Member told us something a little scary (and not, like, La Cava-ran-out-of-tequila scary).
Let’s learn about one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. 😲 Remind us to stick with the World Showcase version of Mexico, because we’re pretty sure there are no active volcanoes around EPCOT.

Beside Mexico is the Norway Pavilion, home to one of our favorite snacks in Disney World, School Bread. But what do we NOT know about Norway?
Believe it or not friends, Norway is, in fact, a real country — we know, we weren’t expecting this either. It seems a lot of people get confused about Norway being its own country. Here’s what Cast Members told us.

Did you know the U.K. (aka the United Kingdom) is not one but four countries?
A Cast Member broke down all four countries for us.
Here’s what you should know about the United Kingdom from a UK Cast Member herself! 🇬🇧 pic.twitter.com/88y83xj2kY

Over in Canada, a Cast Member made sure we knew that Canada isn’t always cold.
We’re guessing from what this Cast Member has told us that Canada probably experiences all four seasons (unlike Florida where we feel like we’re melting almost year-round).
This is a fun fact about Canada from a Canadian Cast Member in the World Showcase! 🇨🇦 pic.twitter.com/zubxoA27IR

We FINALLY got to try school bread in Norway at Kringle Og bakery, which is an excellent place to eat (and we really, REALLY wish they would bring back the super yummy charcuterie plate) and we said…”meh.” It was okay but nothing to write home about and rather bland. We felt the same way when we ate one of the gigantic cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s Tavern in MK. It wasn’t that great; the dough was over-beaten, it was huge, and it wasn’t very flavorful. Lefse is better at Kringle Og, in our opinion, and so are the sweet almond pretzels if they have them. We are always game to try something new!

I love this post! It made me so happy! My son and I like to go around and ask each country how to say one thing, like “Thank you!” EPCOT is so fun for all the different cultures you can be exposed to in one day!
