Let’s face it. Not everything at Disney World is a fan favorite.
We’re thinking about crowds, long wait times, and price increases. None of those immediately make you excited. This made us think about another divisive thing: Food. So, we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about the menus at Disney World. We asked and boy did you deliver!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask “Do you love prix fixe menus at Disney World?” and the results were pretty varied.
We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments, so let’s see what they had to say!
Well, maybe not love, but…
Of the readers who commented on our post, 30% said that they enjoy the efficiency and convenience of prix fixe menus, as it saves time and allows the kitchen to be more efficient.
They appreciate not having to spend time deliberating over a lengthy menu and instead trust the chef’s choices. They also noted that with a set menu, the kitchen can prepare the dishes in advance, reducing wait times between courses and ensuring a smoother dining flow.
Hate is a strong word, but…
On the other hand, 20% of our commenters said that they prefer having more choices and find that prix fixe menus limit their options. They prefer the freedom to choose from a wide range of dishes based on their personal preferences, dietary restrictions, or cravings.
Having a broader menu selection allows them to explore different flavors and try new dishes, catering to their specific tastes and desires. For these individuals, prix fixe menus can feel restrictive and limit their ability to customize their dining experience.
We’ve got some concerns…
About 25% of our commenters raised concerns including not liking all the items on the menu, not wanting to pay for courses they don’t want, and the high cost associated with prix fixe meals. Additionally, if there are certain items on the menu that individuals don’t particularly enjoy or have dietary restrictions against, they may feel dissatisfied paying for courses they won’t fully enjoy.
The cost factor is also important to consider. Prix fixe menus often come with a higher price tag due to the multiple courses and potentially elevated ingredients, which can deter budget-conscious diners.
These types of menus are challenging…
About 15% of our commenters mentioned that individuals with dietary restrictions or picky eaters in their party find prix fixe menus particularly challenging. People with specific dietary restrictions, such as food allergies or intolerances, may find it difficult to find a prix fixe menu that caters to their needs without modifications or substitutions.
Likewise, picky eaters who have strong preferences or aversions to certain foods may struggle to find a prix fixe menu that aligns with their tastes. In such cases, the fixed nature of prix fixe menus can pose challenges and may require additional communication with the restaurant staff to accommodate specific dietary needs or preferences.
All of these are very valid concerns. It’s just goes to show that the preferences for prix fixe menus at Disney World vary among individuals. It’s important to recognize that dining preferences are subjective, and what works for one person may not work for another. Some individuals appreciate the simplicity and curated experience offered by prix fixe menus, while others prioritize customization and freedom of choice.

I DO NOT LIKE PRE FIXE MEALS!! They are expensive, too much food, and it takes away the enjoyment of looking through the menu. We have crossed off several restaurants we used to love to go to because of this.

Well, I would think those people could go eat somewhere else. I won’t go to buffets, cause I don’t like them. No biggie. I don’t expect the Buffay to start offering me table service with an order off a menu.

I think it depends. We won’t eat at BOG or Space 220 because the prix fixe doesn’t offer enough choice & is over priced
But we like the prix fixe at Chefs de France but includes most items we would want, is priced reasonably & waitstaff is usually very good about accommodation
