There are two kinds of people in this world: the kind that sees a spider and shouts, “EW KILL IT!” and the kind that says, “LET HIM LIVE. HE ISN’T HURTING ANYONE!” Honestly, our relationship with bugs is kind of complicated, but there are some bugs we simply love. Take the characters from A Bug’s Life, for example. Last time we met Gypsy, she was just about the sweetest (and prettiest) moth we’ve ever met!
While we have a soft spot for all Disney bugs (except Hopper!), there’s one beautiful friend we especially adore. And now, Disney is giving one of our favorite characters its own DESSERT! You guys, this dessert is too funny NOT to share, so let’s take a look at the new It’s Tough to Be a Bug Brownie at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Creature Comforts, we’d like to personally thank you for putting a smile on our faces. Your new It’s Tough to Be a Bug Brownie is SO silly that we’ll be thinking about it all day. Let’s all take a moment to soak in the beauty of Heimlich, the most beautiful caterpillar we’ve ever seen.
LOOK! I’m a beautiful BROWNIE! 🐛 We got the It’s Tough to Be a Bug Brownie at Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and would be doing a disservice if we didn’t show you 🥹 You can get it for $5.99! pic.twitter.com/UgMImDBifT

This dessert is basically just a chocolate brownie topped with a hilarious-looking Heimlich figure made out of frosting, along with some little flowers made out of sugar icing. Yeah. There’s an entire icing-blob caterpillar on top of that brownie. Incredible.
Okay, now that we’ve given Heimlich the proper amount of attention, let’s talk about the actual taste of this ridiculous creation. The brownie was actually really good; it was soft, fudgy, and super chocolatey. That’s just how we like our brownies!
Even the frosting topping was pretty good — the texture was soft and smooth, adding an extra level of creaminess to our bite. Bonus points (or should we say, brownie points) to Heimlich for STAYING PUT through an entire photoshoot under the hot Florida sun. We’ve seen sturdier treats crumble and melt much faster than this dessert.
The brownie was also made with a cookies and cream Oreo-like filling, which we loved! The gold sprinkles around the outer rim of the brownie didn’t do much in terms of taste, but they added a little extra texture and jazzed up the otherwise plain brownie. Look out for that green frosting, by the way; speaking from experience, it WILL dye your hands green. Very green.
You can probably tell just from looking at this dessert, but we’ll come right out and admit that it is VERY sweet. There’s a lot of sugary stuff going on here, so if you don’t like sweet treats, you might want to admire this one from afar. If you like fun, over-the-top desserts, give it a try!
The new brownie is $5.99 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. As a food blog, we shouldn’t encourage the idea of buying treats just for their appearance, but COME ON. This Heimlich brownie is the exception. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
