Disney Cruise Line is known for bringing the magic of Disney to the sea.
There is a reason Disney cruises are so popular — people will even spend some serious cash for Disney Cruise Line designer bags. The Disney cruises offer special things like fireworks and holiday-themed sailings. There is even a NEW private island opening soon. Recently, it also just got easier to be on board a Disney ship.
Earlier this year, Disney announced that DisneyBand+ would be coming to Disney ships. Similar to how MagicBand+ works in Disney parks, this service allows cruisers to unlock their stateroom doors as well as pay for purchases. Kids can use their DisneyBand+ to access kids’ clubs on the ship, like the Oceaneer Club and Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay. They can use the DisneyBand+ instead of the Oceaneer Club band.
We have already seen this technology roll out on Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. Now, the Disney Fantasy ship will be adding the technology. Beginning July 29th, guests will be able to purchase and use DisneyBand+ on board.
If you already own a MagicBand+ from Disney World or Disneyland, you will be able to use it as a DisneyBand+ during your cruise. If you do not, you can order a DisneyBand+ by visiting My Reservations between 11 and 45 days before your sail date, if your reservation is paid in full (while supplies last).
While only the Fantasy and the Wish are currently offering this feature, we expect more ships to use it in the future. We will update you on those when they happen. For more Disney Cruise Line tips and information, be sure to follow DFB.

I am glad that Disney is utilizing Magic Band + more than just some haptic feedback and the Galaxy Edge Bounty Hunter game.
