If you’re looking to try a fun new snack in Disney World, EPCOT is the place to go.
The International Food and Wine Festival has begun and there are tons of new foods to try. Adobo Yucca Fries, Braised Beef Poutine, and even a Pickle Milkshake have arrived for the fest, but if you get too caught up in the festival food, you might miss out on one of the best treats we’ve had in EPCOT recently. Let’s head over to the Land Pavilion to see what they’re serving!
Inside the Land Pavilion, Sunshine Seasons is a great place to stop for lunch — but options are limited after 4PM. Thankfully you can still stop by the bakery case later in the day if you’ve got a sweet tooth, and this week there’s a whole new lineup of treats to try. We spotted a Key Lime Parfait…
…a Fruit Tart…
…a Creme Brule…
…and, surprisingly, a new Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie!
Sunshine Seasons has served whoopie pies in the past, and we have loved them, but it has been YEARS since we’ve had one of them at this location. So, when I spotted this one on the menu, I had to try it.
This is a Chocolate Whoopie Pie with Peanut Butter Filling and Shaved Chocolate Pieces around the outside, topped with Whipped Cream and Powdered Sugar. You can pick it up for $4.29.
Y’all, this treat was heavenly. I am not even usually one for whoopie pies and am rather picky about peanut butter and chocolate desserts, but I would get this again and again. Somehow it was light and fluffy yet also decadent — the peanut butter had a whipped consistency that was smooth like butter.
The whoopie pie itself was extremely moist. As much as the DFB team loves many of Disney’s whoopie pie creations (the Carrot Cake Cookie and Red Velvet Whoopie Pie in Disney’s Hollywood studios are great) — they can sometimes fall flat. If not done right, the cake portion can be dry and the filling bland.
But this one was perfectly cooked — it was soft and moist with a little bit of bounce back typical of a whoopie pie.
On top, the whipped cream was amazing. It was light and seemed freshly made with hints of vanilla bean and it had a perfect whipped consistency. The chocolate shavings on the outside are on the darker side, which balanced the sweetness of it without them being too bitter.
The only downside is that you probably want to eat it with a fork since it doesn’t hold together well — which really isn’t a flaw, it’s just so soft. But if you’re looking for a thick and super-rich peanut butter dessert, you might be disappointed… the peanut butter here is very light and creamy so this might not be the decadent treat you were hoping for. However, this is a standout snack in my opinion.

The whoopie pie at Sunshine Seasons was one of my favourites so I was excited to hear you say it had returned. Until I read that they’ve ruined it by putting peanut butter in it! Yuck!

Yes. Have some.
Oh man, I’ll be running to Connections in 54 days.
I wonder if I can handle this, the Le Halles raspberry lime macaron torte, and the Ireland cake in the same day.
I shall persevere.
