Disney World is certainly a magical place, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hit some bumps in the road at times!
Rides can go down unexpectedly, shows can get canceled or delayed due to weather issues or other problems, and more unexpected problems can arise. But we have to admit that what happened on a recent visit might be the BEST issue we’ve ever seen happen in Disney World.
While we were over in Disney’s Old Key West Resort on August 22nd, we spoke with some Cast Members who told us that at one point during the day, Christmas music(!!!) suddenly started playing in the Resort and no one could quite figure out what was happening! We even noticed a few Cast Members walking around a bit perplexed! 😆
We’re not kidding! Holiday music randomly started playing at the resort (on the inside and outside)…in the middle of August! We walked off of the boat transporting us to the resort into the 94-degree heat only to hear…the Nutcracker Suite?!
This is even funnier when you realize that the resort’s gift shop is currently filled with Halloween merchandise.
We don’t know how that music got on today’s playlist, but we weren’t mad about it. 😉 Soon after, we heard the usual beachy music resume with a bit of Jimmy Buffet, but we enjoyed the taste of the festive season while it lasted!
Tell us your opinion in the comments — when is the “appropriate” time to start playing holiday music? We’ve gotta know your thoughts!

Staying in one of the Polynesian bungalows one October. The bungalows have a doorbell. Whenever anyone rang the doorbell we heard Christmas music! No way for us to change it. It did give us a laugh!
