Disney World is changing significantly in the coming months!
Updates are coming to the hotels and to EPCOT later this year, and of course, we’ll be celebrating Halloween and then the holiday season in the next few months. So if you’re traveling in October…what new things can you expect to find in Disney World? We’ve got the list!
Updated Rooms at the Beach Club
Let’s start things out at the Beach Club, where the hotel rooms are currently being updated. The updates were originally supposed to be finished in April 2023, but now the completion date has been pushed back to late fall.
That means that during the month of October, we’ll likely be seeing quite a few refurbished rooms pop up around the resort, and you might get lucky with a nice newly reconstructed room during your stay. We’ll be on the lookout for more details about these rooms, so stay tuned for updates!
Special Entertainment in Disney Springs
For the spooky season, you’ll be able to check out special entertainment in Disney Springs! If you head to the Waterside Stage, this will include performances by Squad Ghoul Friday through Sunday from September 29th to October 29th.
And then in Town Center, Zombie Drummers and Skeleton Stiltwalkers will roam every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October. That sounds like a great chance for a photo op to us!
Learn How to Draw Disney Villains
If you’ve been to Animal Kingdom in recent years, then you probably know all about the Animation Experience at Conservation Station. There, you can typically learn to draw different animals from animated Disney films. But for Halloween season this year, there’s a special surprise!
From October 1st through October 31st, some Disney villains will be featured characters in these drawing classes. You might learn how to draw Bruce from Finding Nemo, Kaa and Shere Khan from The Jungle Book, Tick-Tock from Peter Pan, or Scar from The Lion King.
A Special Scavenger Hunt
It doesn’t technically start in October, but it’ll last throughout the month. From September 29th through October 31st, the Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit scavenger hunt returns to EPCOT for a little bit of seasonal fun.
For this scavenger hunt, you’ll purchase a map and then walk around World Discovery, World Celebration, and World Nature in search of Disney character-themed pumpkins.
Disney’s Official 100th Anniversary
And finally, one of the biggest and most important things about Disney World in October is that October 16th is The Walt Disney Company’s official 100th Anniversary! Disney has been celebrating in a variety of ways all year, but it’s possible that we could get some special day-of offerings.
We’ll have to wait and see if anything special is announced for the big day, but until then, we’ll happily shop all the 100th Anniversary merchandise and check out the celebrations that are coming to EPCOT soon.
That’s everything big coming to Disney World in October that we know about currently, but we’ll make sure to update you if any more additions are announced! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest news from Disney World!
