How do you prefer to get to Magic Kingdom? The Monorail? Ferryboat? Bus?
Did you know there’s actually ANOTHER way? Typically, you could get from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to Magic Kingdom via a walking trail that takes you through Disney’s Monorail resorts. It’s a bit of a long walk, but it can be a much more peaceful way to get to and from the park than squeezing into a packed Monorail — if you don’t mind spending the extra time on your feet, that is. But unfortunately, that trail had a surprise closure recently that you might want to know about!
If you walk the full trail from the TTC to Magic Kingdom, you’ll pass through Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. But lately, those hotels have been going through a lot of construction.
The path between the two resorts was closed for a while while the Polynesian Resort was working on its new DVC tower, but a redirected path opened up in September of 2022.
The walkway between the Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom was also closed for a while during some of its construction, but it reopened in May of this year.
Now, the saga continues — the walkway between the Polynesian and Grand Floridian is closed again.
Unfortunately, there are no alternative walking paths to get between these two resorts at this time, so you might want to take the Monorail in the meantime. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
