There are plenty of ways you can take your Disney World trip to the next level.
You can stay at a fancy Deluxe Resort, book a special tour, and even have the most magical fireworks experience imaginable. Fireworks Dessert Parties are some of the absolute best ways to watch Disney’s nighttime spectaculars — but they come at a price! If you’re wondering if this splurge is worth it, we can help you figure it out.
There are three different dessert parties in Magic Kingdom depending on what type of experience you’re looking to have. Each party includes desserts, drinks, and reserved seating for the fireworks show. This can be a great way to ensure you’ve got a solid view of the fireworks without having to deal with staking out a spot hours in advance. Plus, you get dessert and drinks!
Your fireworks viewing area will depend on which party you choose. Here’s a look at the different parties and their pricing:
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party — $99 for adults, $59 for children
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats & Sweets — $114 for adults, $69 for children
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party — $99 for adults, $59 for children
We turned to our Facebook page to ask our readers whether or not they think Disney World Dessert Parties are worth the added cost, and we were shocked at what they said. Let’s dive in!
Yes, They’re Worth It
A solid number of the responses (around 47%) we received said that no matter what, yes — the fireworks dessert parties are worth it. Even though it’s an additional cost and you might already be paying a pretty penny on your trip to begin with, there’s nothing like having this special experience to remember forever. By far, the most common reason our readers think dessert parties are worth it is due to the dedicated viewing areas that come with them.
If you’ve ever been to Magic Kingdom during fireworks, you know just how precious that real estate can actually be. By going to a dessert party, you don’t have to stake out your spot hours in advance to make sure you can actually see everything. Depending on which party you go to, your viewing area may be different, but it’s a reserved area that you won’t have to worry about laying claim to and wasting your precious time.
For other folks, the desserts and drinks just make fireworks viewing that much more magical. The snacks and beverages are unlimited, which means you can have as much as you want during the time allotted (just don’t get too crazy with the booze, this is Disney World after all). But, we can’t help but mention the replies that were simply about enjoying the time spent with their families and the memories they’ll cherish forever.
No, They’re NOT Worth It
Most of the people who replied that fireworks dessert parties aren’t worth (around 36%) it simply responded, “No!” But, we also learned some of the reasons why they felt this way. And, we have to say, it makes sense! Quite a few people simply didn’t feel that the party was worth the value. The price certainly isn’t cheap, and for some people, the desserts and drinks aren’t quite enough to make the cost worth it.
A few readers thought that for that price, it should at least include small appetizers or something slightly more substantial. You can get a decent number of snacks in Disney World for that price, so we wouldn’t suggest counting on a dessert party to be a full meal.
Some readers said they didn’t feel the parties they attended were worth it because they don’t really care about fireworks to begin with. If you’re not a big fan of fireworks it doesn’t really make sense to spend a good chunk of change on an experience like this.
It sounds like other fans did enjoy the desserts and fireworks during their party, but still didn’t think the added cost was worth it because they didn’t feel as though the viewing area was good enough. Depending on which party you choose, the viewing area might be at Tomorrowland Terrace or in the Plaza Garden.
It Depends!
A smaller number of our readers (around 13%) said that it really just depends on what you’re looking for with a dessert party. If you’re celebrating something special or are looking to have an extra magical Disney World trip, then sure! The memories you make will probably be worth it alone. If you’re not a big sweets person and don’t think you’d take advantage of the drinks, then spending $100 to watch fireworks on top of already paying for your ticket and everything else on your trip might not make the most sense.
Ultimately, only you can decide what’s worth it to you and your travel party, so keep these points in mind when you go to plan your next trip.

We did the fireworks dessert party ages ago the first year it was offered, and my husband enjoyed being seated while waiting as well as the desserts, the pistachio creme brulee being our favorite (the same as was then served at Tony’s). This was before alcohol washed into MK, so the cost was much less, under $50/person. I wouldn’t pay $100 per person for it now, even with adult beverages included, since I am a one and done drinker, and usually only do so with a full meal.

Thanks for another informative report. One thing I would have liked to have know is which party actually offers the best fireworks view? Its Clear one you sit down with to watch and the others you don’t so they are in different areas, so is one area and therefore party offering a slightly better view??
Id love to know anyones thoughts on this…
