Beaches and Cream Burger
In celebration of America’s independence, I sure wish I was eating my way around Disney World today! If you happen to be there for the holiday — or you just wish you were — we’re doing our patriotic best to inspire you with red, white, and blue eats.
Without further ado, let’s head out on an All-American Food Crawl!
Angus Chuck Cheeseburger at Liberty Tree Tavern
While the Beaches and Cream burger above is a great place to start, we’re going to head to the Magic Kingdom and somewhere a bit more historical!
Start your journey with lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. This restaurant, located in Liberty Tree Square, pays tribute to Colonial America. Dine in rooms dedicated to notables of American history, like Betsy Ross, Benjamin Franklin, George & Martha Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, or Paul Revere.

While dinner is a delicious feast served family-style, lunch is an a la carte offering. And my favorite meal is the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger topped with bacon and cheddar cheese.

A juicy, thick burger is served perfectly with steak-cut fries. It may sound common, but it’s one of my favorite burgers in all of Disney World!
Hot Dogs at Casey’s Corner
When the next hunger pangs roll around, head to Casey’s Corner on Main Street U.S.A. for another favorite Fourth of July grill food: Hot Dogs!
I love a good plain hot dog from Casey’s! And there are always great condiments and toppings to dress it up, like plastic cheese!

But the Corn Dog Nuggets are pretty wonderful, too.

Be sure to grab a chair under an umbrella and stay a while. You’ll enjoy some awesome people-watching right here on the hub, with an excellent view of Cinderella Castle.
Barbecue at Flame Tree Barbecue
So it’s not an Independence Day celebration without some barbecue, eh? Well, Disney World has that covered, too!
One of my favorite spots to enjoy smoked meats at Disney is located in Animal Kingdom. Flame Tree Barbecue not only boasts one of the most interesting outdoor seating areas, but it’s home to some delicious eats, like Barbecue Ribs and Chicken.

Many guests — me included! — also love the Pulled Pork Sandwich!

Be sure to add extra sauce from one of the condiment stands conveniently located in the shaded pavilions throughout the dining areas.

Fried Chicken at 50s Prime Time Cafe
Fried chicken is another mainstay of family summer picnics. Crispy, golden, and flavorful…it’s a great way to celebrate freedom and fun!
For a fried chicken fix, stop by 50s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and order a plate of Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken. It’s almost as good as your mom’s, we promise!

American Dream Slush
In need of some star spangled refreshment? Hop a friendship boat for Epcot. When you get there, swing by the Fife and Drum Tavern, located in the America Pavilion.
There are all kinds of wonderful snacks and treats here, but nothing will have you whistling Yankee Doodle Dandee faster than an American Dream Slush.

Layers of strawberry and blue raspberry slush are combined with soft serve ice cream for one deliciously different frozen concoction. It’s the perfect cool down on a hot July day!

Peanuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, peanut butter…and chocolate! That’s my version, anyway! I know that the saying goes “as American as apple pie,” but sometimes, I think we should change that to peanut butter.
And while you’ve been made aware of my deep love for peanut butter, we have a new entry for the list — the All-American Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom!

Scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream are loaded with hot peanut butter topping and hot fudge before they’re topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips, whipped cream, and a cherry for good measure! Ahhh. Now I’m dreaming of one of these bad boys.
So whether you’re in need of inspiration during your Disney vacation — or you’re sitting at home, dreaming along with me — enjoy this tribute to life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. And remember, you can enjoy this mash up of fabulous American eats any day of the year!

Love this blog! Just want to note, though, that peanut butter is CANADIAN!!! See this quote from the Huffington Post – you’ll see Canadians got there first:
The actual invention of peanut butter, its process of manufacture and the machinery used to make it, can be credited to at least three doctors/inventors. Happy 4th everyone! Love 50’s prime time and the pot luck platter. Not a huge fan of meatloaf so last trip I asked for double fried chicken and they said no problem! It was awesome. I think this trip I’m going to ask for mac n cheese instead of the meatloaf! I’m hungry now and it’s only 9am! I’m in trouble! Happy day.

I usually get the Pilgrim’s Feast for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. I do like a good burger. Maybe I’ll try it next time I’m there.
