Genie+ just got more expensive, and that might be a sign that Disney World is going to be particularly busy this weekend!
The price for Disney Genie+ varies depending on the day and which park you’re going to use it in. Lately, that price has remained fairly steady, usually at $23 for the Multi-park and Magic Kingdom options. However, today we saw a price INCREASE.
Disney Genie+ is the way to skip the standby lines in Disney World. You can purchase the service for an individual park or buy the Multi-park option and use it in two or more parks. Once you have it, you can make Lightning Lane reservations throughout the day, which means skipping the standby wait and getting on rides faster.
The price for Genie+ varies depending on the day — on busier days, it’s more expensive. It also varies based on the park — Magic Kingdom is the most expensive, followed by Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then EPCOT, then Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Multi-park option generally costs the same as the Magic Kingdom one each day.
Recently, Genie+ has stayed at $23 for the Multi-park and Magic Kingdom options. In fact, it’s been that price (or lower) for over a month. Today, however, we noticed that the price has increased. On October 7th, the prices were as follows: Multi-park — $25; Magic Kingdom — $25; EPCOT — $18; Disney’s Hollywood Studios — $22; Disney’s Animal Kingdom — $16.
The last time we saw prices this high was September 3rd. Since Genie+ pricing is usually based on how busy the parks are expected to be, we’re anticipating some pretty big crowds this weekend.
Note that some Individual Lightning Lane prices have gone up today as well. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train costs $11 today; TRON Lightcycle / Run costs $20; Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is $15; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is $22; and Avatar Flight of Passage is $14. For Seven Dwarfs, Cosmic Rewind, and Rise of the Resistance, those are the highest prices since September 3rd.
These still aren’t the absolute HIGHEST prices we’ve seen for Disney Genie+ since the system changed to adjust pricing by park. The highest price since that change has been $29 for Multi-park and Magic Kingdom; $21 for EPCOT; $26 for Hollywood Studios; and $18 for Animal Kingdom. We haven’t seen prices that high since the July 4th weekend, though.
It’s likely that prices will continue to be high and get higher as the holiday season approaches. We’ve seen Genie+ cost as much as $35 per person, although that was before it changed to vary pricing by park. Usually, the holidays are some of the busiest times in Disney World, though some people might be postponing their 2023 trips since so many exciting changes are coming in early 2024. We’ll have to wait and see how that will affect crowds and Genie+ prices.
