Disney Genie+ is the service you can buy to skip the standby lines in Disneyland and Disney World.
This service replaced the FastPass option in 2021. The price of Genie+ varies, depending on the day that you’re visiting. Now, a price increase has been announced for Genie+ in Disneyland.
Genie+ now starts at $30 per ticket, per day in Disneyland. Previously, the price started at $25.
Note that prices vary by date — on days when Disney expects the parks to be busier, Genie+ generally costs more. We can expect to see the highest prices around the holidays, when the parks are especially crowded.
You can find the current day’s pricing and purchase Genie+ on the Disneyland mobile app.
In Disneyland, you can purchase and add Genie+ to a park ticket or vacation package in advance (this is not available for Disney World). If you purchase in advance, you’ll pay $30 per ticket, per day. If you purchase day-of, the price is subject to date-based pricing starting at $30 per ticket, per day.
Lightning Lane selections can be made upon entering the theme park in Disneyland theme parks.
On the day of this price increase (October 11th), Genie+ cost $35.
The last price increase for Genie+ at Disneyland was about a year ago, in October 2022. Then, it went from $20 to $25.

Who actually uses Genie +? Genie + is the biggest scam WDW has implemented upon their customers.

Such a rip off!

I did use Genie + at my recent DL/DCA trip it helped with a few rides (Haunted Mansion Holiday, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Soarin, Star Tours, Small World, WEB, and Smuggler’s Run). I was able to save quite few hours, but I spent quite a bit of my day staring at my phone to schedule rides, food, and consult the map. But is hard to say if it worth the cost but comparing Genie+ to getting ILL for Radiator Springs ($20/person) to go from a 150-minute wait down to only a 60-minute wait. Either you perfectly time your day, wait in longer lines, or pay MORE.

Shame on you Disney. Remember not long ago we were given the FREE FAST PASS. Now we must pay for what once was free. Disney of course determines the daily price for the Genie plus based on crowd size. Disney has proved that not only can they not be trusted to determine crowd size, but the company is showing that their greed is UNLIMITED. Mr. Walt Disney would never have allowed this to happen. Disney your greed is DISGUSTING. Disney surprise us and give us a break. You want occupied hotel rooms, so cut your prices in half for hotel rooms.

I wouldn’t say scam. It’s a method to increase profits. While I completely despise it and always tell people to opt out of using it, it is a very effective means by which Disney uses to increase profits. Very clever! It is advertised as a ‘must’ to ‘hit all those attractions you don’t want to miss’! This isn’t very true. And that goes for those visiting for a first time or only once a year or so. Example, we are AP’s, family friends met us in WDW for 4 days visiting from up north. They ‘hit’ every ride, other than one particular because it broke down, that they had wanted to ride. It’s really all about timing. WDW needs to make money, Genie+ isn’t necessary to enjoy and ride all the rides your after. Remember to one very important point, Disney rides are really an experience. The queue is part of the story. Granted some lines do last a long long time. But we cannot fault a business for trying to find ways to increase profits.
