Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks for unique and delicious snacks.
Flame Tree Barbecue is a standout quick service location on our list of favorites, and there are countless snacks we highly recommend as well. We headed over to Pandora: The World of Avatar this morning to try one of their new snacks, but it…wasn’t what we expected.
Over at Pongu Pongu, you can grab the new Cinnamon Roll for $6.49. Just like other cinnamon rolls, it’s several layers of rolled dough with cinnamon and sugar in between, and this one is topped with plain icing and sprinkles.
Note that this is ONLY available for breakfast, so after 10:30AM, you won’t be able to get it.
This thing is MASSIVE! You certainly get your money’s worth for the size, but unfortunately, we didn’t love it. It’s pretty dry — not excessively so (if you like the typical Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls in Disney World, you’ll probably like this one as well), but enough that we didn’t want to finish it.
Unfortunately, the icing doesn’t help, because it also dries quickly, making it hard and too sugary. This is a treat that your kids may like if they’re not too picky and just want a sweet, filling snack, but we’ve certainly had better cinnamon rolls in Disney World. It’s possible that we just got a bad batch this time, so maybe your experience will be better!
Looking for a better cinnamon roll to grab in the parks? We recommend the Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom. This one is almost the same price — $6.99 — and it’s huge, soft, gooey, and delicious.
If you want a better breakfast option in Animal Kingdom, we just tried a couple of other new options that we liked much better than this cinnamon roll! The Breakfast Totchos at Kusafiri are a dream for cheese lovers…
…and the Pancake Stuffed Sandwich at Drinkwallah, Pongu Pongu, and Trek Snacks is another fun and tasty choice.
