Getting to Disney World is often no easy feat.
Depending on where you hail from, it might take an airplane, a car, a train, a boat, or any combination of ’em! Air travel can be unpredictable, and getting stuck in traffic can be a nightmare. But, you might actually want to drive to Disney World right now — here’s why.
You might want to reconsider that road trip to Disney World! According to News 6 Orlando, gas prices in Florida have reached their lowest point so far in 2023.
The state average dropped about 10 cents per gallon last week, and Sunday’s statewide average was at $3.22 per gallon — tied with March 6th. Over the past 34 days, the state average has mostly declined having dropped over 45 cents per gallon during that time.
This is especially interesting because we previously reported high gas prices due to a variety of factors like extreme temperatures, hurricane season, and more. So, what’s the deal?
Well, Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesman says, “Gas prices are still following the downward momentum created by the seasonal downturn in fuel demand, coupled with stronger gasoline supplies and the switch to cheaper winter-blend gasoline. However, the continued streak of declines is threatened by a second week of rising oil and gasoline futures prices.”
The U.S. oil price increased by 1% last week, following other increases earlier in the month.
The most expensive metro markets are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.45), Naples ($3.40), and Tallahassee ($3.39). The least expensive metro markets to get gas are Pensacola ($3.12), Orlando ($3.12), and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater ($3.13).
That’s good news if you need to grab gas when you’re in Disney World — especially because it’s now going to cost you more to park your car at the parks.
So, if you’ve got an upcoming trip to Disney World planned — now might be the time to consider driving! And, if you don’t have a trip to Disney World planned — now might be the time to consider planning one! With oil prices potentially on the rise, it’s possible we won’t see these low gas prices for long.
