Have you thought about all the changes happening at Disney World? I mean, really thought about it?
As you know, there are a TON of changes that have been happening at Disney World. So, we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about which change you were MOST looking forward to. We asked and boy, did you deliver!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “Which upcoming Disney World change are you MOST looking forward to?” The results were pretty varied. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments.
Now, let’s dive into the results!
1. Park Hopping (All-Day and No Restrictions)
The most excitement in the responses was the change to park hopping!
Many folks want more flexible and unrestricted park hopping just like they were used to pre-pandemic, where they could visit multiple parks throughout the day without limitations. Those restrictions are being lifted on January 9th, 2024! You said it right when one of you mentioned, “All day park hopping. The 2pm restriction should have been removed months ago.”
2. Price Concerns (Lower Prices/Price Decreases)
So many of you mentioned Disney World’s prices!
As you can imagine price is on many people’s minds especially since, let’s face it, Disney World tickets aren’t cheap. A lot were hoping for lower prices and others expressing concerns about potential price increases. I think this comment sums it up best: “The across the board price cuts once they figure out cutting out anyone not rich is a bad business model.”
3. No More Park Reservations
Next up, you brought up the end of the Park Pass Reservation system entirely!
It might not be an exaggeration to say that there’s been a strong desire to do away with the park pass reservation system since it’s inception. You summed up those feelings when you mentioned, “End of park reservations.” Now, some folks — namely annual passholders — will still need to make park pass reservations, but those of you who have a Disney World vacation booked starting on or after January 9th, 2024, will not!
4. EPCOT Transformation
Next, we’ve got the end of the EPCOT transformation!
The ongoing EPCOT renovation project has been generating lots of anticipation, with people eager for the removal of construction walls (finally) and the reveal of all that is new. And we could see that when you said, “EPCOT being back and getting rid of WALLCOT.” Disney execs have promised the walls will be gone by December 2023!
5. Return of the Dining Plan
You went all in for this next one. We’re talking about the return of the Disney Dining Plan.
Several of you mentioned your excitement about the return of dining plans (listen, we are excited too!), which had enhanced your experiences at Disney World in the past. And, your excitement really came through so simply and best in, “Dining Plan returning!” This change also takes effect on January 9th, 2024 — and you can read lots more about the Disney Dining Plan right here!
Those are a lot of changes coming (and ones we hope will come) to Disney World to choose from and we’d love to find out more from you! Until then, keep it right here for all the latest Disney news!

That it’s taken this long to get back to what we used to do is ridiculous. Covid was over at the end of 2020, almost 3 years later we are excited about park hopping returning all day. Why did it take 3 years to bring back trams & park hopping & dining plans? Gee, I wonder why attendance is down.

Honestly I never ever thought I’d say this… but I will miss park reservations. It limits the amount of people in each park. I went to Disneyland on November 6 this week and even with park reservations there were too many people in the park. I parked hopped over to California Adventure just for some breathing room. Headed to WDW December 22 through 28. I know it’s going to be busy busy busy but I’m so excited!!
Kenh says
Attendance at Seaworld in Orlando cratered as the park lost millions in the last quarter… and Disney is heading down the same road. Guests are loosing interest in WDW and a lot of been there done that is beginning to set in after the high prices of the past 3 years. The day of the Theme park may be coming to an end as Americans have had enough. Disney is banking on a lot of guests from South America to make up the difference.

I think Lisa’s comment is key here “I will miss park reservations. It limits the amount of people in each park. I went to Disneyland on November 6 this week and even with park reservations there were too many people in the park” Disney sold the park reservations as a way to limit attendance numbers yet most people who went during the last 2 years have said that the parks were full. The main reason they wanted the reservation system was that so they could minimise staff levels and save them money.
Tammy Campbell says
I never saw a decrease in crowds with park reservations. It was just a way for the to staff and track people. As an out of state passholder I’m not sure I’ll renew if they continue to require park reservations for passholders. This could be my breaking point. Now bring back Magical Express and the luggage handling!
janet winslow says
Remove park reservations for everyone and bring back early morning magic hours and evening hours for all resort guests. Give us something to appreciate our loyalty such as magical express luggage handling and package delivery to our resort. 3 park passes a day per park free. No wonder why we are losing interest. I am a Disney loyal customer or guest but not being able to go when and where you want on property forpassholders or day guests is not the way I want to spend my time in the most Magical place on earth.

As an AP who shelled out for an Incredipass so that it would have no blackouts, I’m furious to find Disney can still block me out by taking away park Reservations for APs on any day without any reason or explanation. December 19th ??? Reservations are available for main gate tickets but NOT APs !!! Thanks for the loyalty Mr Iger.

Bring back the 180 day ADR window for on-property guests.
