McDonald’s Happy Meals are no longer just for kids!
What is meant to be for young children is now exploding all over the internet (and in our “office”). You can get a little cheeseburger or a few McNuggets served with a tiny, adorable side of fries, apple slices, and a kid’s drink. It’s really quite the deal. But the price is not why grown adults are now on a buying frenzy for these fun meals–the toys are.
On October 31st, 2023, McDonald’s released a MASSIVE collection of Disney100 toys that would be coming with every Happy Meal sold. There are 62(!) Disney toys that you can collect, and Disney adults everywhere are trying their hardest to get them all (is this Pokémon?).
We at Disney Food Blog have gotten particularly excited and seem to have developed an obsession with collecting all the toys amongst our team. From AJ to reporters and our writers across the country, we are working hard to collect all 62 of them. We’re often taking our lunch breaks to hit up McDonald’s. But why wouldn’t we? We are a bunch of Disney nerds and these are so CUTE!
Seriously, just look at Mickey.
Each Happy Meal comes with a Disney100 box with two toys.
The figures have a Funko Pop! style face with tiny little bodies, and they’re all standing on a Disney100 pedestal. They’re just adorable. They are fun to collect even if you end up with a small army of all the same ones–which happened to me personally: I now own 10 Tinker Bells and 10 Joes.
The good news is that you don’t HAVE to buy a Happy Meal to get the toy (so 10 Happy Meals worth of food did not get wasted in the collection of my army). At some locations, you can ask to purchase the toys separately, which will cost you around $2 (but you cannot purchase them separately at a kiosk, you must talk to an employee).
It’s a fun game that we’ve got going on with over 10 different characters collected so far for DFB. If you’re hoping to start collecting them, run to your nearest McDonald’s now because they won’t be around for long!
