We’re stopping by one of the most consistent booths we’ve seen during the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays in the past, and we’re here to find out if it still measures up!
The 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, shows and storytellers to watch, souvenirs to grab (of course), and even a cookie stroll to complete. But don’t let it overwhelm you — we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen (by the Germany pavilion), you’ll find a variety of available items. All of the food items are returning with most of the drinks returning as well.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce, Spätzle, and Braised Red Cabbage for $6.50.
This is a returning item to the festival booth this year but we couldn’t resist another go at it since it consistently returns as a best of the fest for us. In the past, we thought the schnitzel was just the right amount of chewy, the breading was a little extra salty (but we enjoyed it), and the sides were very complimentary while the mushroom sauce worked its magic to bring the full dish together. And, we were impressed with the portion size for the cost. This year, we still loved it. The pork was tender and the breading had the right texture. The cabbage adds a crunchy, acidic flavor to the dish.
Who could resist a bread bowl full of CHEESE?! The Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl with Steamed Baby Vegetables and Marble Potatoes is $8.25. This is also a returning item that is simply irresistible to us. In the past we’ve thought this dish had a lovely sharpness to the cheese, found it to be warm, and still delicious even after sitting for a while as we grabbed our photos of it. The vegetables were also cooked perfectly — and again we were impressed by the portion size for the price
This year, it is still a hit for us. This CHEESE, y’all. It’s heavy and creamy. The vegetables are delicious too. They are soft and pair so well with the cheese.
To top it all off, we had to pick up a dessert, so we grabbed the Linzer Cookie, too for $3. it’s also part of the Cookie Stroll you can complete during the festival. In keeping with the theme from past festival experiences, we’ve found this cookie to be one of the best of the festival with its fruity raspberry center.
This year, guess what — we still love it. We appreciated the fruity flavors of the jam. The cookie itself has a lot of those traditional holiday spice flavors as well. But, be careful, the cookie does crumble easily.
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Glühwein which is a house-made hot spiced wine for $9.50. No surprise here, it’s also an oldie to the festival but we’ve enjoyed it in the past so we don’t mind. We’ve found it to be a great drink to pick up on some of those cooler December nights and this year we love that this is served warm, especially on a chilly day. It was like Christmas in a cup with all of those holiday spices. It was sweet but balanced.
We also opted to try out this year’s Beer Flight made of Possmann Pure Hard Apple Cider, The Tank Brewing Co. Prost! Festbier, and Kostritzer Schwarzbier for $10.25.
The Festbier was similar to a light ale. It seemed like a classic lighter beer to help balance the flight.
The Apple Cider was very light and refreshing. It is sweet and a great option to go with your pork schnitzel.
Finally, the Schwarzbier was a very heavy beer. If you enjoy dark beer, this is great to help warm you up, but we can also see it being filling.
In addition to the beer, you can also buy a Regional Riesling here for $6.75.
OVERALL
This booth remains one of our favorites every year — and 2023 is no different!
Sometimes things don’t need to change for them to remain delicious. We really enjoyed this booth. We feel like it is bringing a lot to the table at this year’s festival. We appreciate that we can count on consistently loving the food here and finding something to warm us up.

I love fondue but in the past it’s been super liquidy and did not stick to the potato’s or carrots so I’ve never gone back. It looks good in the pictures and I may try this year and hope for the best.
