If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…right?
Recently, we found ourselves over at Disney California Adventure for the Festival of Holidays, where we indulged in a lot of festive foods and drinks. Unbeknownst to everyone, Disney would soon after sneak in a NEW Avengers-themed treat worth trying. And try we did, as we headed over to Avengers Campus to taste the new dessert. However, we found this snack came with a catch — not only is it a variation of a popular Avengers Campus snack, it’s a total replacement!
When we first tried the Celestial-sized Candy Bar: Choco Smash Candy Bar at Pym Test Kitchen, we were blown away by its size and taste. As big fans of the treat and its affordable price ($7.99), we felt it totally justified its existence. However, fans of the candy bar will be surprised on their next visit when they see it has been replaced by the Choco Smash Cake.
The original Choco Smash Candy Bar was made with dark chocolate, peanuts, caramel, nougat, and a chocolate brownie to create a concoction that essentially blended a Snickers, Three Musketeers, and a Reese’s all together.
Fortunately, we’re happy to say the new dessert gives us equally satisfying flavors!
The new Choco Smash Cake has quite a few components — layers of brownie, white chocolate peanut butter ganache with crunch pearls, white cake, dark chocolate truffle mousse, and white chocolate caramel bavarian cream, all coated in chocolate ganache and topped with roasted peanuts.
The Choco Smash Cake made a VERY positive impression with us! The caramel and peanut butter complemented the brownie and chocolate ganache on the outside so well, creating a really tasty blend. The chocolate was fairly rich, but the white cake added a light and sweet vanilla flavor that cut through that richness to balance the other flavors.
All in all, we actually think the Choco Smash Cake is an UPGRADE to the candy bar! Anyone who loves rich and chocolatey desserts should definitely try this, while chocolate-haters should likely pass on this very chocolatey treat.
As previously stated, this new dessert can be found at Pym Test Kitchen at Avengers Campus inside Disney California Adventure. The Choco Smash Cake will set you back $8.99 but, like its predecessor, we think the pricing is pretty fair.

I totally agree! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! The smash bar was unique, delicious, and large enough for multiple guests. This cake is a single serving, boring, and a dollar more to boot. This dessert swap has dissuaded me from visiting the Pym Kitchen. #bringbackthesmashbar
