Are you hungry? We’re warning you now — it’s time to talk Disney food and reading this post without a snack is a unique form of torture.
That’s right, the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun! There’s a lot to do from strolling around eating cookies, watching exclusive shows, and trying all of the delicious food, of course! We’re covering everything at the festival and now it’s time to talk about the Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen. Let’s find out if it’s worth your time at the festival this year!
Menu
Over at the Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen near the Mexico pavilion, you’ll find a variety of available items. You’ll find Mexican-inspired food items here. Although the Dulce de Leche Churros are back this year, there are a bunch of other menu items including the Giant Tostada de Chorizo and the Apple Margarita.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
From Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen, we have:

Eats
First up, we grabbed the Giant Tostada de Chorizo for $11.50 which is a giant tostada with chipotle black bean purée, ground chorizo, salsa verde, queso cotija, crema Mexicana, and pickled onions. This item was around in 2021 but was absent last year. Now it’s back! It even made our Best of the Fest list…but how does it hold up?
Y’all. This is SO GOOD. The bread itself is thin and crispy, but there’s a great ratio of savory, tender meat. It melts in our mouth but has a great crunch to add some complexity. We loved this one!
Y’all, this tostada is a ✨ best of the fest ✨ item from us. Get it NOW.
Next is another returning item from 2021 — it’s the Tamal de Barbacoa for $8.50! This dish is made of shredded barbacoa beef in a corn masa topped with mole negro, queso cotija, crema Mexicana, and pickled onions. When we tried it in 2021, we weren’t a huge fan because it was more dough than filling. Did Disney fix this dish to make it a hit?
This is SO GOOD. It definitely has that smoky, barbecue flavor. It’s super meaty, and has a great ratio of meat and breading, unlike last year. We’re happy to announce that this year’s tamal is a WIN.
Finally, on the food part of the menu, you can grab the Dulce de Leche Churro sprinkled with Cinnamon Sugar for $6.50. Last year, we said this churro was pretty average — the filling was sweet and good, but it was nothing to write home about.
This year, we felt that this is a GREAT sweet snack option. Last year, we remembered that they kind of skimped on the filling, but this year’s had a ton of filling, which we loved. It’s smooth and delicious.
For the 2023 festival, this booth was a HUGE hit for us in terms of food, especially with that tostada, which we truly feel is one of the best items you can get throughout the whole festival.
That’s all for food. Onto the drinks!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we started with the Apple Margarita. This cocktail blends Centinela Blanco Tequila, apple purée, black tea-cinnamon cordial, and Nixta Corn Liqueur topped with whipped cream and holiday salt — a lot is going with this one new $4 drink!
This thing is STRONG. The toppings are so sweet, but also salty — so it’s a great sweet and salty combo. It definitely has that festive holiday taste, but it is STRONG, so keep in mind that this one could be DANGEROUS — if you know what we mean.
Returning this year is the Horchata Margarita; a drink with Cinnamon-infused Ilegal Mezcal, Abasolo Corn Whiskey, Agua de Horchata, and cinnamon-horchata rum. This $13.25 drink has been around for a few festivals now and it is a fan favorite.
This year, we were reminded again of how truly unique this drink is. You can taste the tequila for sure, but when you mix the drink up, it’s sweet, creamy, and just so DIFFERENT from all the tequila drinks we’ve had. It’s heavy on that cinnamon-y horchata flavor, and overall reminds us of Christmas! It’s the first drink we had here that does that.
Lastly, we tasted the new Holiday Cerveza. It’s a Mexican Artisanal Craft Lager with black currant liqueur for $7 for the 6oz, and $13 for the 12oz . Last year this drink was Cielito Lindo Artisanal Mexican Beer blended for the holiday season and it was a fairly standard beer. How does this year’s version stack up?
This is a great holiday drink option. This is light and refreshing, and almost reminds us of a blonde ale. We really think that this one could be enjoyable even for someone who doesn’t typically enjoy lagers. It gets 5 stars in our books.
We did it! We tried everything at the Las Posadas booth!
OVERALL
Y’all. Do not walk to this booth. RUN. SPRINT. FLY. It is that GOOD! We loved everything we had this year, and this booth might be the BEST OF THE FEST! We especially loved the tostada, of course, but everything here is just so delicious that you absolutely cannot pass it up. As for drinks, we recommend grabbing the Horchata Margarita if you’re looking for some festive flavor.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
