The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays is under way and we are trying every single booth. Yes, seriously! We have tried them all and we NEEDED to tell you about the one you can find in the American Adventure Pavilion.
The 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, shows and storytellers to watch, souvenirs to grab (of course), and even a cookie stroll to complete. But don’t let it overwhelm you — we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the American Holiday Table — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the American Holiday Table, you’ll find a variety of available items.
You can enjoy Slow-roasted turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce or delight in the Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and comeback sauce. Both of these main dishes are returning this year as well as the Gingerbread Cookie which is a Cookie Stroll Item.

Eats
First up, we grabbed the Slow-roasted Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce. You can get this little meal for $6.25
This is a returning dish that we have really enjoyed in the past! It’s like packing a whole Thanksgiving meal into one tray. It’s a bit of everything from a traditional Turkey Day dinner all in one bite. If you don’t enjoy all the flavors in one bite or your food touching, this might not be the dish for you. But if you are a fan of post-Thanksgiving sandwiches where all the flavors are combined, this is calling your name.
This year, we thought the turkey dish was a best of the fest item! It was so good. We loved how everything went so well together. The cranberry sauce wasn’t overwhelming, the mashed potatoes were creamy, Disney potatoes, the stuffing was light and soft, and the Turkey was melt-in-your-mouth juicy. Everything was covered in brown gravy which was so good. We also really liked the portion size of this item.
Next, we picked up the Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and comeback sauce. You can get this little meal for $6.75. Plus, it’s gluten/wheat friendly!
This is also a returning dish that we raved over last year. It was new in 2022, and we are so happy to see that it’s back. We remember this being one of the best festival foods we’ve possibly ever eaten and this year, it’s back and just as good as we remember.
We’re also including the Blackened Catfish on our Best of the Fest list for 2023! It has a nice spicy kick that reminded us of flavorful Cajun seasoning. The catfish was fall-off-the-fork tender. The rice and beans were also flavored with spices and seasonings that complimented the catfish nicely. We would definitely recommend this.
Last, we had to try out the cookie stroll Gingerbread Cookie! You can get this little meal for $3. Plus, it’s gluten/wheat friendly!
We noticed this was a pretty standard gingerbread cookie. It seemed to have more ginger flavor than a sugary cookie. It’s good since it is on the cookie stroll, but otherwise, we might not just pick this up.
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Beer Flight for $10.25. With the Beer Flight, we got to try all three beer options– the returning 3 Daughters Brewing Eggnog White Porter, the Playalinda Brewing Co. Peppermint Chocolate Stout, and the NEW Crooked Can Brewing Company Bah HOPbug IPA.

The new Bah HOPbug IPA is definitely named correctly for its hops. If you are a fan of hoppy IPAs then you would probably enjoy this one! There is a sweetness hiding behind the hops and it’s nice and light. It’s an easy beer to sip and enjoy.
We would recommend leaving the peppermint stout for last on this flight. It’s hearty and very rich, as a good stout should be. You can also get that peppermint flavor coming through which is a nice touch if you enjoy a good holiday peppermint treat.
We found this to be our least favorite of the three on the flight. The eggnog was a hard flavor to pull out in the beer which was on the heavier side since it’s a porter. If you’re looking for a lighter option, we would suggest the IPA over this.
OVERALL
This is definitely a must-visit booth. The two main course options here are both on our best-of-the-fest list and are great portions for their prices. There’s a lot of flavor at this holiday kitchen that we recommend enjoying it on your day in EPCOT.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!

Any chance you can get us the recipe for the Hoppin’ John? It’s sooo good!
Rebecca says
Being a true southerner, I knew the catfish and Hoppin’ John would be a delicious combo. It would have probably been a favorite except for the overly salty seasoning on the catfish which almost rendered this dish inedible for me. I was so disappointed, but maybe we caught it on a bad night. ☹️
