World Celebration Gardens have officially opened in EPCOT!
Here you can step into a serene city park-like area with beautiful green spaces and detailed planters. There are park benches, tables, and most importantly LOTS of charging stations. It nearly feels like you have left a theme park and entered a relaxing garden– which is very close to Walt’s original dream for EPCOT. But there are a few big hints that remind you that you are, in fact, still in a Disney park.
The new gardens are separated into different sections or areas, each with a different theme. One area is Dreamers Point, where you will find the statue of Walt, ‘Walt the Dreamer’. The new gardens and statue debuted on Walt’s birthday and we noticed that it was a VERY popular attraction (though not the only one in the gardens– keep reading to see more!).
It’s no surprise to us that people were lined up, waiting, to see and visit this new tribute.
On opening day, we saw the line for the new statue (which you can sit by to get memorable pictures with) reach up to 45-50 minutes! There were tons of people waiting for their chance with Walt.
But the new statue wasn’t the only thing you could wait in line to visit in the new gardens. Two characters were spotted there, too! Daisy and Pluto were hanging out there with people and doing meet-and-greets.
Daisy had a traditional meet and greet in the gardens, while Pluto could also be seen roaming around when there wasn’t a line.
There are different parts of the gardens that we had thought would be perfect to meet characters at, and it turns out Disney was a step ahead of us! It’s cool seeing them here, where you might normally go to take a break and charge your phone.
According to the Disney World app, Daisy could be seen there many times throughout the day. So you have a really good chance of meeting her and Pluto!
Even though the gardens are a place to find peace and feel like you’ve left the park, there is still Disney magic present with these fun additions. Keep your eyes out for characters here throughout the day!
In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney updates!
