Happy holidays! This festive season, we’re celebrating with gifts, decorations, and parties.
If you’re throwing a holiday party, you might need some refreshments for all of your guests. We’ve got a new recipe to help you prepare for the big event!
This recipe comes from Jaleo by Chef José Andrés, a restaurant in Disney Springs. In honor of National Sangria Day (which is December 20th), the restaurant released its recipe for Sangria de Lujo Tinto.
The drink is “a simple, yet delicious recipe that’s perfect for dinner parties or for days of leisure.” At Jaleo, it’s prepared tableside for guests!
Here’s how to make it at home.
What You’ll Need
Glassware:
- 2+ Rocks Glasses
- 1 50 oz pitcher
Garnishes:
- 8 lemon wheels
- 8 mint sprigs
- 8 orange peels
- 4 raspberries for summer or Granny Smith apple slices for the winter
Ingredients:
- 1 of your favorite bottles of Red wine
- 16 oz Sangría base
- 10 oz soda water
Directions
- Combine the Sangria Base and the soda water in an empty pitcher
- Fill the individual glasses with cubed ice
In the Pitcher:
- Make sure to express the orange peels and gently smack the mint sprigs before adding them in
- Add 4 lemon wheels, 4 orange peels, 4 mint sprigs, and 4 raspberries into the pitcher
- Last, open the bottle of wine and pour it into the pitcher
In Each Individual Glass:
- Put a lemon wheel, by the side, half of it over the surface
- Smack a mint sprig and put it on top, as flourishing from the drink, next to the lemon wheel
- Express an orange peel over the drink and place it on top, along with a raspberry (summer) or a Granny Smith apple slice
