For a place that’s called the Most Magical Place on Earth, it sure does break our hearts a lot.
Call us dramatic if you want, but it’s truly so disheartening when one of our favorite snacks disappears off a menu, a merchandise item we’ve been wanting sells out, or when one of our favorite rides closes. Disney World broke our hearts three times last week, and if our hearts had to be broken, so does yours. (Sorry. I don’t make the rules.)
So, without further ado, here are the three biggest heartbreaks from this week.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is CLOSING in January.
No, not permanently. Don’t cue up the water works just yet. On January 8th, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close indefinitely for refurbishments. If you’re wondering, “Why? It closed for three months earlier this year?” — That’s a darn good question.
Cast Members told us that the coaster hasn’t undergone a complete refurbishment since the parks re-opened in 2020. So, this closure might be a continuation of the work done over the summer.

The most stunningly gorgeous popcorn bucket ever sold out.
The Gold Musical Rotating Tin Popcorn Bucket sold out this week. Yes, this is the one that played music and has rotating pictures.
It’s beautiful, and it’s gone. And probably will stay gone, based on what Cast Members told us. Gone, but never forgotten.

Disney confirmed Voyage of the Little Mermaid is permanently closed.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a stage show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. It was one of the few things that never re-opened.
A new show will arrive in Fall 2024 to take its place: “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure.” We’re excited about the new show but also sad to officially say goodbye, even though we saw it coming.

The closing of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid was one of my favorite shows so it is sad to me that it is closing. 😞
